Completed projects achieving status of 3 years without a lost time injury on all projects.
Built strong relationship with Saudi Project Manager to overcome settlement of over 600 change
orders not processed worth several $m, negotiated/settled every one saving 50% on claims.
Took over management of projects that were behind schedule and, through innovative redirection,
recovered project schedules and budgets ($200m HFE Expansion project and Waste Water
Treatment plant project).

DIRECTOR of CONTRACT MANAGEMENT Kearl Oil Sands Project (KOSP)
Promoted with remit to manage these three phases Imperial Oil & Exxon Mobil $30bn development
project to develop six oil sand leases in North-Eastern Alberta, Canada; one of the eighth largest $
projects in the world. Manage contracts up to $515m, 6 directs and up to 1000 personnel.
Successfully reduced cost of claims when appointed on contracts. Inherited major problem re
many contracts: funding and legal obligations instructed to liaise directly with contractors to clarify
costs, agree correct figures to avoid costly claims.
Reduced many contractors claims for example:
$39.3m formal claim contractor on River Water Intake Facility; produced 17-page rebuttal
resulting in contractor settling claim for $9.3m, a 76% saving.

Key member of construction management team on Phase 1, consisting of a surface mine plant
facilities and the supporting infrastructure to produce 112kb/d annual average bitumen for
blending, transport and sale.
Managed contracts ranging from $5m to $515m for the Ore Preparation Plant, River Water Intake
Facilities, Total Suspended Solids and Surface Water Monitoring and temporary Construction
Buildings, Construction Power, Administration/Locker facilities and MSF Facilities.

CONTRACTS MANAGER Whiting Refinery Modernisation
Appointed with brief to bring this $2bn project back on schedule after the retirement of previous
manager. Managed team of 8 staff.
Project included processing extra heavy crude and module fabrication for crude and vacuum unit
and gas oil hydro-treater.

Saudi Basic Industries Corp, SABIC


SENIOR CONTRACTS MANAGER Yanbu Petrochemicals Complex (U & O)
Appointed to manage contracts for utilities and offsite, including off plots and interfaces with Olefin
Complex. Managed 5 directs.
Managed contracts for field erected tanks, central control room, six plant buildings, effluent flares,
piping and tanks, cooling water plate exchangers, piping and design and the supply and
installation of the tanks fire protection system.
Achieved over 46m man-hours with Zero time lost caused by injuries during 15-months working on
Yanbu Petroleum Chemicals complex - safety record considered one of the best in the industry.
Successfully built strong relationship with Saudi Project Manager to overcome settlement of over
600 change orders not processed worth several $m, negotiated and settled every one saving 50%
from initial estimates.

Initially appointed as client representative on a $60m Corporate Capital API project (Eplerenone
Commercial) at the Arecibo plant in Puerto Rica.
Successfully managed completion of $40m ultra fast track Celecoxib API expansion project
completing this one-month ahead of schedule resulting in extra $m sales of Celebrex drug.
After completion of Celecoxib API project assigned as Site manager for all corporate capital
projects at the Barceloneta plant including a new QA/QC laboratory, water for injection project and
Paracoxib expansion project.
Provided assistance in the constructability process of clients team approach to project execution,
including Integrating Safety in the Design phase of Projects and assisted in providing front end
planning to the clients management team.

Successfully completed multiple projects involving building renovations/refurbishment under TOC
Contracts with the U. S. Navy; project from 3 weeks behind schedule to completion on time.
Work involved complete renovations for new design barracks, dining facilities, safety and security
facilities and jailhouse. Complete upgrade and installation of HVAC and electrical facilities.

Benham Constructors, Oklahoma
Client representative for 3M Corporation on a $200m HFE Expansion Project involving installation
of two 75,000 AMP water-cooled buss systems used in the reaction phase of the operations.
Negotiated and settled two (02) claims totaling +/- $200,000.00 at no additional cost.

Brown & Root Services, Houston
Managed all phases of building, operation and maintenance of five U. S. Army camps in Bosnia as
part of the U.S. Army Operations Joint Endeavour Peacekeeping Force. Work involved erection of
MASH (Field Hospital) Units and installation of sixteen helicopter landing pads and helicopter
maintenance facility.
