LOW TEMPERATURE RETARDER
DESCRIPTION
CA-R8 is a high quality organic-type retarder and dispersant for modified cement
slurries containing a high percentage of bentonite. It is compatible with most API
cements.
APPLICATION
CA-R8, when used in slurries containing up to 25% gel, is effective to 12,000 foot
depths at static temperatures up to 260F.
As a dispersant, CA-R8 helps prevent premature gelling of cement slurry during
mixing. An added benefit of CA-R8 in gel cement slurries is its ability to help
reduce fluid loss to thieving formations during placement.
In slurries other than gel cement, CA-R8 may also be used as a retarder and
dispersant when high slurry viscosity causes problems in mixing.
