PROJECT SYNOPSIS:

A STUDY ON FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OF INDIA


INFOLINE THROUGH RATIOS.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY:
Ratio analysis is the process of identifying the financial strength
and weakness of the firm by properly establishing relationship between the items of the
balance sheet and profit and loss accounts. Financial analysis can be undertaken by
management of firm or by parties of outside the firm, via own as creditors, investors, and
others. The nature of analysis will differ depending on the purpose of analysis.

AIM:
The main objective of the study is to know the financial performance of
the company. The study will be carried out with respect to such as Balance Sheet and
Profit and Loss Account for the financial year 2012 to 2014, which has been published
in Annual Reports of the company. The main aim of the study is to analysis the liquidity
position, earning ability of the company and profitability of the company.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY


The focus of this study is mainly on financial performance and capacity of payment
of interest and dividends and also liquidity and solvency position of the India infoline.
The study is based on Balance sheet and Profit and Loss Statements and cash flow
statement, as scope of study Ratio analysis of India Infoline mainly focuses on
profitability performance and capacity of payment of interest and dividends and
also liquidity and solvency position of the India Infoline. The study is based on
Balance sheet and Profit and Loss Statements and cash flow statement.
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:
To analyze the financial position of India infoline.
To know the liquidity position of the India infoline through Liquidity ratios.
To analyze the Earning capacity of the India infoline through Efficiency ratios.
To know the profitability performance of the India infoline through profitability
ratios.
To know the capability of payment of interest & dividends.

1. How to analyze the financial performance of the company?
2. What are all the ratios to be calculated to show the liquidity position of the
company?
3. Which ratio is useful to decide the earning capacity of the company?
4. How to analyze the overall financial strengthens of the company?

2012-13 and 2013-14.

METHODOLOGY
Method of Data Collection:
Primary data:
Primary data is the first hand information that is collected during the
period of research. Primary data will be collected through discussions and interaction
with the staffs in the accounts department, through oral conversations with the cashier,
taxation officer etc.
Secondary data:
Secondary data studies whole company records and companys balance
sheet and profit and loss account statements in which the project work will be been
prepared, journals and reports will also used to formulate the theoretical model for the
study, and some figures and statistics will be analyzed through website.
Sample data: Two years financial report of India Infoline is taken for data analysis.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:


Time management will be an important limiting factor for preparation of project
report.
The study of reports will take into consideration only past 2 financial years.
Further studies will be based on secondary data.
