Workshop Details
This session introduces dancers to the foundations of providing a clear intention to walk for leaders and
activating the free leg in followers. Open to all levels, this workshop provides useful information to beginners
and experienced dancers in the art of walking and the many options from this foundation to create new
movements.
Workshop 2: Centres and Circumference: Moving your core through the dance without getting dizzy
This workshop generates a clear method for understanding your own centre and that of your partner.
Discover how to utilise your core and explore the circular movements of tango in this all-levels session.
In this workshop the possibilities for sacadas will be unpacked by understanding the many opportunities
available in the turn. Discover the delights of sacadas for both leaders and followers.
This session looks at the techniques for leading and following boleos. The foundations to achieve easy and
effortless movement will be explored.
There are a diversity of ways to follow and lead boleos. In this workshop the theories of linear, circular, frozen,
‘against’ and ‘with’ boleos will be unpacked.
Come and discover the surprising ways in which you can barrida (drag or sweep) in your tango. This session
examines the fun and startling methods to create unexpected barridas.
Challenge yourself in this workshop and examine the methods to create dynamic movement in your dance.
Expectations will be discarded as new opportunities to activate movement to the music will be mobilised.
Come along for the ride. This workshop looks at the possibilities for continuous colgadas.
