CAFOD LENT FAST DAY Friday, 27th February. Storms, droughts and floods are having a
devastating impact on our poorest brothers and sisters around the world right now. CAFOD
works with local expert organisations to ensure affected people are not only able to survive, but
to thrive. Fast Days are our opportunity to support that vital work. There are CAFOD Lenten Fast
Day envelopes attached to this weeks Bulletin. Please return next weekend. There is good
news: the UK Government has promised to match every pound and penny you give this Lent up
to the value of 3.5m. Thank you for your generosity - from CAFOD.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be celebrated during Lent as follows :
Each Friday at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace Church.
Each Thursday in St Andrews Church after 9.30am Mass.
On Friday, 20th March at St Gilberts after 7.30pm Mass.

PRO-LIFE ISSUE With little deliberation The House of Commons has approved a technique
of human genetic modification which would result in the creation of "3-Person
embryos" which combines the DNA of two women and one man. The House of Lords will debate

HUMAN TRAFFICKING Come, hear and learn more about Human Trafficking from Kevin
Hyland, The Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, and Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough, on
Monday, 23rd February from 7.30pm-9.00pm, at Holy Redeemer Church, Wexham Road,
Slough, SL2 5QR. You will have the chance to question a panel of speakers. The event is

SIX LENTEN TALKS on The Covenants of God on Tuesday evenings at St Andrews starting on
24th February from 7.00pm to 9.00pm by Derek Williams. All welcome.
THE PATH LESS TRAVELLED a spiritual spring clean for Lent, Tuesdays 8.00pm-9.30pm in
Cornerstone, St Peters, Burnham, starting on 24th February.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CLASSES The next session is on Saturday,
28th February from 9.30am 11.00am at St Andrews Church,
Cippenham. Please continue to pray for our children so that they will grow in
their appreciation of the sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion
CHURCH CLEANING will be on Saturday, 28th February at 9.00am. Please try and spare an
hour to help.
CONFIRMATION PROGRAM The first Session will be on Tuesday, 3rd
March from 7.00pm to 8.30pm and will be held in ST ANDREWS. The
Sacrament of Confirmation will be conferred by Bishop Peter this year on
Tuesday, 23rd June at 7.30pm in Our Lady of Peace.
BAPTISM PREPARATION COURSE The next Baptism Preparation course that Deacon Marek
will be running begins on Wednesday, 4th March at 6.00pm and will be held in the Sacristy at Our
Lady of Peace. If you wish for your child to be Baptised over the next few months, you will need
to attend the course. This is especially important for first time parents. If you have not already
advised that you will be attending, please contact Yvonne on 01628 605764.
AGM The Annual General Meeting of the Shared Church Trust (CSCT Ltd) will take place on
Tuesday, 10th March at 7.30pm at St Andrews Church. All parishioners are welcome.
ST PATRICK'S DAY night of celebration in St Andrew's Church on Saturday,
14th March from 6.00pm. Stephen Barker will provide the entertainment with
an Irish music disco. To add to the flavor of the evening if you would like to
bring along an instrument and play, or sing a song on the evening you are
most welcome. Please bring your own snacks, there will be a licensed bar,
Irish bingo and a raffle. Donations of prizes for the raffle will be gratefully
accepted. Tickets are on sale. Buy a green ticket for 8 to include sausage
and chip supper or a white ticket for 5 if you do not want food. Reduced
rates for children.
