Tulane

petition
urging
Tulanes

Fitts
and
the
Board
of
Administrators
to
divest
from
fossil
fuels
in
an
effort
to
align
Tulane
with
international
efforts
to
address
the
global
climate
change
crisis.
We
are
currently
seeking
signatures
from
faculty
university-wide.
The
petition
is
posted
at
www.divesttulane.org/faculty-letter
Our
goal
is
a
minimum
of
50
signatures
by
the
end
of
Spring
semester,
2015.
We
will
not
publicize
any
names
of
signatories
or
send
the
signed
petition
to
the
president
and
the
board
until
we
obtain
at
least
50
signatures.
Divest
Tulane
and
the
faculty
authors
of
the
petition
want
to
ensure
that
no
faculty
member
experiences
negative
repercussions
because
of
their
participation.
We
feel
as
though
the
best
route
to
shield
professors
from
possible
consequences
and
demonstrate
our
power
is
by
keeping
the
signatures
private
until
we
reach
50
faculty
signatories.
Signatories
may
include
one
to
several
sentences
to
their
signature,
which
will
appear
with
the
signed
petition
that
is
sent
to
the
president
and
the
board.
