About This Chapter

The BTS3012AE uses the DPMU, DTMU, NPMI, and different types of sensors to perform the
functions of the environment monitoring subsystem. These functions include the monitoring of
environment, such as the temperature, humidity, voltage, and current. The BTS3012AE can be
configured with a DMLU, which connects to the external alarm box. The DMLU can protect
the monitoring signals from lightning strikes.

function of the environment monitoring subsystem.

monitoring functions. The DPMU, DTMU, NPMI, and different types of sensors are used to
monitor the environment. The direct air control unit and fans are used to regulate the temperature
inside the cabinet.

7.1 Components of the BTS3012AE Environment

Monitoring Subsystem (AC)
The BTS3012AE uses the DPMU, DTMU, NPMI, and different types of sensors to perform the
function of the environment monitoring subsystem.
Figure 7-1 shows the components of the BTS3012AE environment monitoring subsystem.

Subsystem (for DCU)
The BTS3012AE is used for outdoor application and provides comprehensive environment
monitoring functions. The DPMU, DTMU, NPMI, and different types of sensors are used to
monitor the environment. The direct air control unit and fans are used to regulate the temperature
inside the cabinet.
The BTS3012AE environment monitoring subsystem provides the following functions:

Managing and monitoring the environment inside the cabinet, the power supply system,
and the charging and discharging of the storage batteries, and reporting the monitoring
results to the DTMU

The DPMU collects environment variables, such as the temperature, humidity, smoke,
water, and door control, from sensors and report them to the DTMU. The DTMU performs
proper operations according to the predefined settings and reports the result to the OMC
for the efficient monitoring of BTS environment.

The direct air control unit performs the heating function and the fans perform the heat
dissipation function. The direct air control unit and fans provide proper working
environment for internal equipment. When the temperature exceeds the threshold, alarms
are generated.
