Replacing the Cabinet Components

About This Chapter

The BTS3012AE cabinet components are the fan box, AC lightning arrester, built-in batteries,
external batteries, fan filter unit, water sensor, smoke sensor, door status sensor, and temperature
and humidity sensor.
9.1 Replacing the Fan Box of a BTS3012/BTS3012AE Cabinet
The fan box of the BTS3012/BTS3012AE cabinet is installed in the fan subrack of the cabinet.
During the replacement of the fan box, the temperature inside the BTS may increase. An
overtemperature alarm may be reported, but the services carried on the BTS are not affected.
9.2 Replacing the AC Lightning Arrester
The AC lightning arrester is placed in the AC power distribution subrack. It provides lightning
protection for the BTS input AC power. Replacing the AC lightning arrester interrupts all the
services carried by the BTS.
9.3 Replacing the Built-In Batteries
The batteries are optional. They can be placed in either the built-in battery cabin or the extension
battery cabinet. When the built-in battery is replaced, the ongoing services are disrupted if the
cabinet is powered off. If the cabinet is not powered off, the ongoing services are not affected.
9.4 Replacing the External Batteries
The batteries are optional. They can be placed in either the built-in battery cabin or the extension
battery cabinet. Replacing the external storage batteries does not affect system services.
9.5 Replacing the Water Sensor
The BTS3012AE water sensor is placed at the bottom of the cabinet. It gives an alarm when it
detects water. Replacing a water sensor does not affect system services.
9.6 Replacing the Smoke Sensor
The BTS3012AE smoke sensor is placed at the bottom of the cabinet. It gives an alarm when it
detects smoke in the cabinet. Replacing a smoke sensor does not affect system services.
9.7 Replacing the Door Status Sensor
The BTS3012AE door status sensor monitors whether the front or rear door of the cabinet is
open. Replacing a door status sensor does not affect system services.
