God Said, I Made a Man

Jose Garcia Villa

God said, I made a man

Out of clay
But so bright he, he spun
Himself to brightest Day
Till he was all shining gold,
And oh,
He was handsome to behold!
But in his hands held he a bow
Aimed at me who created
Him. And I said,
Wouldst murder me
Who am thy Fountainhead
Then spoke he the man of gold:
I will not
Murder thee! I do but
Measure thee. Hold
Thy peace! And this I did,
But I was curious
Of this so regal head.
Give thy name! Sir! Genius

Being in love means never having to say youre sorry

After all, at some point in your life
That love was the most important thing to you,
That love might be the one that you hoped would last forever,
That love made you believe that destiny does exist,
And that love made you question,
Why you were afraid to fall in love in the first place.
At that time in your life,
Everything just seemed so perfect,
Everything seemed so beautiful,
Everything seemed to glow for you,
And you were my everything.
I wouldn't even think twice about sacrificing my own happiness for yours,
I was even willing to bare up this walled but crumpled heart of mine,
Just so I could be with you.
All I ever did was care for you.
All I ever did was to make you happy.
And all I ever did was love you.
Being in love means never having to say youre sorry
But I needed to ask forgiveness from the one who was hurt the most
Myself.

STILL I RISE
Dr. Maya Angelou
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise

God begins speaking here directly to someone or something and he simply

speaks a general "fact" that he created mankind out of clay, referring to a
common conception of mankind being molded by a higher deity. The following
lines indicate the development of mankind from primitive to modern.
The second stanza indicates the conflict, in which god seems to be surprised by
the mans behaviour of questioning the existence of God. Then god questions
man about the reason why the man is questioning Him.
Man clarifies his intention, by explaining that he desires nothing but to
discover the concept of God, out of curiosity.
God kept quiet but to his curiousness, he asked his name because it is clearly
not his original creation and he demands an answer from mankind and the man
responded that he is Genius or a learned man.
