Wind? Indeed. I
slept til the
early
morning- and
woke as somE-
body smashed
My windows in.
Outside, however, is nobody. No-one.
Just an Eerily Calm street. Even quieter
than usual. I bet everybody will say
they never Heard a thing. Neither Did
They see Anyone. Yet I stand on broken
glass.
So here I hang.
My Life
Dangling by
just a piece of
Thread.
Friendless.
Work-Free.
Under Criminal
Investigation.
And now with a
new set of
Windows to
Pay. While
Maxs von MüHl-
Stein remains
Doing his
dreadful
Deeds, better
People Falling
by the Way-
side…
Yet Those who
head for the
Heavens soar
first sky-high,
get Height-
Drunk when
they are Kept
in position
though they
deserve the
push.
Yet those who
stand on the
highest height
plummet even
lower.
And harder.
He is not the
powerless
little man
Maxs has to
fear.
It is the equal
on whose toes
he Threads.
High and
mighty he may
be. There is
always
somebody
higher and
more
unforgiving.
He may hide behind
a facade of a non-
descript building.
Plotting his Plots,
Hatching his Plans.
Yet the wrong
step is just one
step away…
 The real
Power is
just there.
Does not
need to
hide.
It will
make
things
happen.
But only if
necessary.
And while
I am
suddenly
back at
work and
men are
busy
repairing
the
windows -
- Because
the
mills of
Justice
have
turned
and
turned
and
found
there is
no case
to
answer -
 -Maxs
simply
goes
over the
top and
blows
such a
big
obvious
hole
that it is
hard to
conceal
it.
- And Some People are not happy. Not
happy at all.
 Careful
where you
step!!
 Before I
even
know it,
I am
invited
for a
nice ride.
Soon,
though,
it turns
out that
we
follow a
car that
looks
Familiar.

 Making its
Way down
south…

… Then the overnight train across the
continent… Is he fleeing?
 No, we are
going to
Prague. So
that is
alright then.
My Companion
remains
silent. Why
am I
following
Maxs? What if
he sees me.
Yet he seems
to go to
important
meetings, I am
left in Peace.
 Then, one
evening, I get
picked up by a
striking
Vehicle. My
Driver just
keeps laughing
and happily
talking. Yet I
know no Czech.
All I can figure
out is
something
about good
food.
How puzzling is

OI that?
 In The end I am
dropped off in
this rather
imposing looking
building.
Over Dinner, one
or Two hints are
_being Dropped.
They are
all so
Friendly
here. And
the
deference
to them is
spooky.
They
noticed I
might one
of few
people
who has
seen
Maxs’s
face. A
useful
asset in
company
like this.
It is
getting
quiet
merry in
our
private
suite.
Beer,
Vodka,
endless
supplies
of food…

I start
forget-
ting the
dark
clouds
over the
Mersey.
The Next day, through grey clouds, A chopper
flies me over from Prague to a city in
northern Russia.
Once there, Customs seem to be no formalities.
We switch to a car. While the Black Audi races
through town, I admire those familiar shapes.
My new friends are the Rossia Connection and I
could not think of Better Backing.
Even in a vast
country like this
the least -overheard
Place sometimes is a
deserted harbour.

Two tall men tell me

about a planned re-
moval oF maxs, the
horrible von MüHl-
Stein by an
assortment of
professionals. I Am
just needed to signal
when he is spotted.
And it’s not like buying the cat in the
Sack either. I am invited to see the
Professionals During a Training session.

I will meet
the
formidable

back in
Liverpool.
We will
unmask Maxs,
I.e. find him
and then -
 The national
Animal of Russia
is the bear. Yet,
my “Business-
partner”
Prefers to be
referred to as
The Bull.
The Journey back is far less exciting and
a good deal more comfortable. First
class across Europe! Could one believe it!
