While discipline is important to succeed, teenagers are also impatient and vulnerable. Both parents and teachers must provide love, understanding and guidance to help teenagers through this crucial period.

    parentsexpectaresponsibleshoulderbytheirsidewhocanbetheirfriendaswell.Butadifference
    inbasicvaluesandaninevitableaspectofgenerationgapdoesproducecomplications.
    Teenagerstodayliveinaglobalworldglorifyingthegreedisgoodmantraandattitudeabove
    everythingelse.Theystruggletodividetheirtimeamongschoolorcollege,tuitions,music,Internet
    browsing,phone,shoppingandsoon.Thereisalsoaculturalcrisisthathasafflictedtheteenagers
    today.Averycasualattitudetowardssomeveryseriousaffairsinlifeiswhatisfrequentlyseenin
    them.
    Themediaglorifiestherebelteenwhomakesfunofthetraditionalideasofhisparentsorwhodoes
    nothesitatetoflauntthehappeningbrandofhisundergarmentpeepingoutofhislowwaistdenims.
    TeenagerstodayproudlysportTshirtswithsloganslikeirreverencejustified!evenwhilemanyof
    themdonotknowthedifferencebetweenthenationalanthemandthenationalsong.
    Theteacherstudentrelationship,traditionallyasacredoneinIndia,hasbeenveryseverelyaffected
    today.Twentyyearsago,anIndianteenagerslappedbyhisteacherwassorryandworkedharderto
    impresstheteacher.Todayaslappedteenagerdragstheteachertocourt,withfullsupportfromthe
    mediaandtheparents.
    Ofcourse,onecannotacceptateacherphysicallytorturingachild,butithastoberememberedthat
    theteacher,thirtyyearsago,withhissparetherodandspoilthechildmantracreatedageneration
    ofdoctorsandengineerswhoarerespectedallovertheworldtoday.Wellifyoucannotcallaspade
    aspadeandtreattheteenagerlikeasissywhocannothandleharshcomments,howshallheface
    thetoughworldtomorrowwherethereiscutthroatcompetition?
    Thekeytoeverythinginlifeispatience.Yougetthechickenbyhatchingtheegg,notbysmashingit.
    Buttheteenagerisimpatientforsuccessasifitwereatwominutefastfood.
    TherewasatimewhenitwascustomarytocallafatherafatherNow,itappearstobeconsidered
    amarkofadvancedintelligencetocallyourfatherabeanorascream(Chesterton).Teenagers
    mustrecognisethattheirparentsaregrowingoldandshouldthereforerespecttheirwishesandtryto
    learnasmuchaspossiblefromtheirexperience.
    Parentshavepointstoremembertoo.Itisimperativetorememberthattodaysteenagersare
    vulnerabletoanumberoftemptations.Inmanycasestheirparentsandteachersmaynotbeableto
    providetherequisitetimetolistentotheirproblems.Thiscanbedangerousparentsandteachers
    havenosubstitutesinateenagerslife.
    Teenagersshouldnothesitatetoseekprofessionalhelpfromcounsellorseitherintheirschoolsor
    fromoutside.Ateenagersvulnerabilitycanbereducedconsiderablybyinstillingtherightblendof
