INTRODUCTION
GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK) is a British multinational pharmaceutical,
biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company headquartered in
London, United Kingdom. It is the world's fourth-largest pharmaceutical
company measured by prescription drug sales (after Pfizer, Novartis, and
Sanofi).
It was established in 2000 by the merger of Glaxo Wellcome plc (formed from
the acquisition of Wellcome plc by Glaxo plc) and SmithKline Beecham plc
laxoSmithKline plc. (GSK) is a British multinational pharmaceutical, biologics,
vaccines and consumer healthcare company headquartered in London, United
Kingdom. GSK Consumer Healthcare is a dominant player in nutritional
healthcare, oral healthcare and OTC medication.
GSK is one of the few healthcare companies researching both medicines and
vaccines for the World Health Organizations three priority diseases
HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
The Company produces medicines that treat major disease areas such as
asthma, anti-virals, infections, mental health, diabetes, cardiovascular and
digestive conditions. In addition, GSK is a leader in the important area of
vaccines and is developing new treatments for cancer.

1. Women's Horlicks, a sub-brand of GlaxoSmithKline Consumer
Healthcare's flagship Horlicks milk drink, is now the consumergoods
company's fastest growing product with sales topping Rs 100 crore in
2013.
2. GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd, the maker of Horlicks and
Boost health food drinks, is looking at setting up a large manufacturing
facility close to the east coast in southern Andhra Pradesh.
3. GSK is scouting for about 100 acres of land at the two locations, apart
from connectivity to the natural gas grid, and has conveyed plans to
produce Foodles, which is its instant noodles product, biscuits and oats
under the Horlicks brand, apart from health food drinks.
