RepeatabilityandReproducibilityofFunctionalFailures

Repeatabilityistheabilityofafunctiontoperformoverrepeatedeventsunder(nearly)the
sameconditions.(e.g.samesample)Typicallythetestsareperformedimmediatelysubsequent
toeachother.
Ifaproblemisnotrepeatableeachexperimentaltreatmentrequiresreplicatesofthesame
condition.Aminimum2testsmustbeperformed,butthetruenumberofreplicateswillbe
determinedbytherepeatabilityandmaybedeterminedbysamplesizecalculationsfor
categorical/proportionaldata.

Reproducibilityistheabilityofafunctiontoperformacrossdifferentconditions.(e.g.different
samplesorspecimens)
Ifaproblemisnotreproducibletheneachexperimentaltreatmentmustbereplicatedacross
differentuseconditions.Againthereplicatesizewillbedeterminedbytheamountof
