Under the close supervision and technical guidance of the Education Specialist, the
incumbent will provide support to the Education, WASH and Social Policy at the Managua and
Puerto Cabezas offices in planning and organizing a variety of tasks related to
programme/projects implementation and follow up.

The key responsibilities of the Programme Assistant will be to:

Collect data and other information on the development of the Education, WASH, Social Policy
areas and/or subject-matter activities. To process and examine information and data in
accordance with instructions received, making necessary abstracts and computations.
Draft and process operations in SAP-VISION system in order to verify the accuracy of
documentation processed in accordance with the acceptable accounting procedures for action
by supervisor.
Provide technical and administrative support and follow up, logistical arrangements,
appointments for supervisor, and making logistical coordination for travels in programme
section.
Maintain proper record of the section in the implementation of the Programme Cycle, updating
the database in SAP/VISION system.
Assist in the preparation of all information material, working papers and financial tables for
analysis and decision making in briefing and review sessions.
Take notes during meetings, prepare minutes and ensure follow up to actions agreed upon.
Maintain logs, files and update records in prescribed formats for subsequent use.
Undertake visits to implementing partners to review systems and procedures for compliance
with UNICEF rules and regulations as well as HACT guidelines and prepare reports and
recommendations. Also to carry out assurance visits and spot checks for compliance testing. To
prepare and conduct training to staff and implementing partners.

Minimum
Requireme

nts:

Completion of secondary education, project development skills.


University level studies will be an asset.
Computer operating and software skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
financial software.
Five years of experience in similar post, including record-keeping and processing of
information abstracted from computer system.
Fluently in Spanish and working knowledge of the English language.
