Ross Bow Tie Dispersers, also called High Viscosity Dispersers, are
designed for mixing heavy pastes and viscous liquids. Compared to other
single-shaft agitators, the economical Bow Tie Disperser is more robust
and heavy-duty, capable of handling viscosities up to several hundred
thousand centipoise. Driven by an explosion-proof inverter-duty motor,
the bow tie agitator quickly wets out solids and incorporates them into
a liquid vehicle, creating a very uniform consistency without running at
high speeds. This type of mixer is also best suited for resuspending dense
materials that have packed into layers during storage or transit. For more information on
mixing, blending & size reduction, turn to page 32.

When a pump company shows feet or meters of
head on a pump curve, the liquids specic gravity
(or density relative to water) is not important. When
you read a pressure gauge or the kilowatts (amps)
of an electric motor, the liquids weight or density is
very important. Many engineers, technicians, pump
users and even pump company employees misunderstand this concept. Engineering textbooks and
professors of Fluid Mechanics are guilty of leaving too many engineering students with doubts regarding this concept.
