Acoustic Room Treatment for DG Room.

Technical Specifications
Scope of Work
The Scope of work involves the Design, Fabrication, Supply, Erection, Testing and
Commissioning of Noise Reduction Acoustical Treatment on the four sides of the
wall and the ceiling. Ventilation system, primarily consisting of the attenuators and
secondarily the fans will be provided for removing the skin heat of the Engines and
to maintain the optimum temperature inside the DG room.
As such it is planned to install the acoustic treatment for the walls and the ceiling
with 100mm thick insulated panels. There shall be fresh air and hot air attenuators
on either side of the DG set for fresh air entry and hot air exit. The Openings have
been designed to provide easy air transfer system without suffering the performance
of the DG set. Ducting will be made from the radiator to the hot air opening through
which the hot air will be dissipated outside the room. The hot Air opening is also
designed to ensure that the outgoing hot air velocity is well within the safe limits.
Acoustic doors will be provided in lieu of the normal doors for DG room access with
Glass viewing window. All the openings will be thoroughly sealed for obtaining
maximum performance.
ROOM WALL AND CEILING INSULATION
The wall and ceiling acoustic panels made out of honeycomb-boxed structure of
100mm deep. Each panel is fabricated out of 22 Guage
duly perforated GI
Sheets . The sheets are bend to form a 1000mmX1000mm panels. The panels will
be then filled with 100mm thick 64kg/cu.mtr acoustic media namely, Rock wool
slabs . The 22 SWG GI perforated sheet will be having minimum perforation area
of 25-30%, which will ensure proper noise absorption.
The panels will be held on to the wall with the perforated sheet side facing the DG
by means of T channel supports run on the wall/ceiling. Air Gap of 100 mm will
be maintained between the masonry wall / concrete wall surface and the panels.
The T supports are run to form a grid and the prefabricated acoustic panels are
then slided in this grid.

FRESH AIR AND HOT AIR ATTENUATORS.

The extensive range of attenuators manufactured by us have been designed to
meet the varied requirement of both the architect and building services engineers,
wherever the need to pass air through the external wall of the building and yet still
maintain a high overall level of sound reduction and pleasing appearance and
efficient aerodynamic performance and least self generated noise.
The attenuator casings shall be fabricated out of 22 G thick GI sheet . The casing
shall be formed from top, bottom and side tray sections. The flanges shall be
fabricated out of 50X50X6mm thick MS angles.
The semi aerofoil acoustic attenuator blade elements shall be fabricated from 22 G
Thick GI sheet steel. The blades are filled with 48 Kg / cu.mtr acoustic media
namely the Rock wool slabs and shall be further protected from mechanical damage
by 0.6 mm thick grade IV pre-galvanized perforated sheet steel of 20% minimum
free area and secured in place via aluminium rivets. The resin bond acoustic media
is completely inert, does not harbor bacteriological growth and non-combustible and
fire retardant and tested in accordance with BS and IS standards.
The attenuator box will be treated with anti corrosive zinc chromate primer and
painted with 2 coats of approved paint on the exterior surface and aluminium paint
on the inner wall side.

ACOUSTIC DOOR.
Sound
reducing door leaves as per system requirement comprising of ISMC
framing clad on one side with 16G CRC sheet and 22 G GI perforated sheet
on the other side, with cavity fill of 100 mm thick mineral wool (Rockwool). The
Perforated side of the Door should be facing the DG room side while the MS sheet
side should be towards the building exterior.. Door shall be complete with door
frame out of MS Channels and stop angle out of ISA 50 x 5 complete with
sponge neoprene rubber gasket. Door shall have heavy duty hardware

comprising of stop hinges ,heavy duty multipoint locking mechanism with linkage
bar Handles, latches, tower bolt. The door will be provided with compressible type
P.U or Neopherene gasket. It will be painted with anticorrosive metal primer flowed
with 2 coats of approved paint.
HOT AIR DUCT
Ducts will be provided to guide the hot air from the radiator till the hot air attenuator
through which, the hot air is thrown out of the room. It is made out of 1.25mm thick
CRCA sheet steel with supports and flanges. The duct will be insulated with 50mm
thick 48kg/cu.mtr rock wool slabs and covered with 24 SWG GI perforated sheet. In
addition to the metal ducting double layer flexible canvass material will be used
between the radiator and the duct for isolating the vibrations.
The duct will be treated with anticorrosive Zinc primer and two coats of approved
paint..
