Roller Conveyor Machines

Type RRB

Rsler Roller Conveyor Machines

Type RRB

Applications

Rsler roller conveyor shot blast systems are used for de-scaling, de-rusting, paint removal,
paint preparation and general cleaning of metal plate, pipes/tubes, I-beams and welded
fabrications. Optimum blast results are achieved on thin gauge aluminium profiles as well as on
heavy steel profiles and steel slabs. Standard roller conveyor machines can process product from
600 mm up to 5,000 mm width with roller conveyor speeds from 0.5 to 4.0 m/min. Higher
performance systems allow product speeds of up
to 8 m/min. The number of blast turbines and their
position ensures optimum blast results. The spent
blast media, scale and fines are collected and
transported by screw conveyors and elevator.

Surface preparation

Beams, metal sheets, pipes/tubes, slabs, welding constructions

Smoothing

Pickled or eroded surfaces, machining lines, etc.

Decorative blasting

Light metals, stainless steel, copper, brass, etc.

Peening

Parts exposed to high stress, torsion bars, etc.

De-burring

Flame cut, sawed and stamped parts

4 Hurricane Turbines
An essential feature of the Rsler shot blast systems are the high performance Hurricane Turbines: Their
quantity, position and performance along with the geometry and dimensions of the blast cabinet ensure
optimum blast results.

It passes through a rotary screen drum, an air wash

separator and finally through a further static or tilting screen, before being deposited in the large
abrasive media hopper, with level sensors.

4 Dust collectors
Separate or integrated systems -- dry or wet systems -- with or without explosion protection! Rsler offers a
wide range of dust collector models which incorporate the latest dust collecting and separation technologies.
Rsler offers dust collector solutions for any shot blast application.

The machine width, number of blast turbines and

their location is determined by component size and
production speed.

4 Modular equipment designs

Rsler roller conveyor shot blast systems can easily be expanded to fully automatic preservation (paint) lines.
Painting of the parts is frequently required to put a corrosion protection coating on the blasted parts. There
are special shop primers which provide a corrosion protection coating for up to 6 months.
Roller conveyor shot blast/preservation lines can easily be integrated into existing manufacturing processes.
Corrosion protection is particularly important for ship yards, because long manufacturing cycles require
extended temporary corrosion protection. However, steel dealers, steel mills and steel fabricators are more
and more utilizing such preservation technologies.

RRB machines are available to process Plate

and Sections or to blast clean complete welded
fabrications. The special placement and turbine
arrangement made around the blast chamber
allows an all-round perfect blasting of complex
fabrications in a single pass.

Quality made in Germany...

For Rsler the word quality has deeper meaning than just fault - free, reliable
and durable products. Quality is an essential part of our work philosophy and is
expressed in the personal sense of duty and quality found in each of our
employees. Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 is living proof of our
commitment to quality.

Rsler Hurricane-Turbines
Blast Turbine Hurricane
Blasting media is fed through a central feed tube into the high speed rotating turbine. The centrifugal force, of
the rotating turbine, throws the media at the components to be blasted at speeds of up to 120 m/s. The design
of the blades, insertion point, and the speed of the turbine determine the processing results in conjunction with
the blasting media. In order to achieve an economic utilization of the blasting media, the amount of blasting
media and the transfer to the turbine blades can be easily adjusted. The blast media flow is either fixed or can
be adjusted automatically through the PLC/control panel. A clam shell valve controls the media flow from the
media hopper to the turbines. The blast pattern e.g. position of the hot
spot can easily be adjusted from outside of the turbine. The turbine
speed can be adjusted with a frequency
inverter thus allowing gentle or very aggressive blasting.

Rsler dust collectors

Each dry blast application produces dust!

5

Rsler dust collectors incorporate the latest dust extraction and collecting
technologies. Rsler offers a dust collector for every conceivable blast
application. All Rsler dust collectors are in full compliance with governmental safety regulations. As required, they can be upgraded to handling
combustible dusts (explosion-proof systems).

Two different systems wet or dry collectors can be offered

Frequently dry collectors are equipped with a fine filter Police filter.
Residual dust load < 0.5 mg/m.

Backpack filter located on blast machine

10

The standard backpack filter on the blast machine reduces the space
requirements by up to 10 m. The short air ducts contribute to a greatly
improved filter efficiency.

Blast cleaning of welding constructions

Special roller conveyor machines for blast cleaning of complex

Welded fabrications and constructions; where all surfaces are
required to be cleaned. For example Head- and base-plates,
welded ribs and re-enforcements must be de-scaled and derusted. The welded seams must be cleaned of weld scale and
acidic flux.
All-around blast cleaning of outer and inner surfaces are achieved
through 2 circular blast zones. The first blast zone consists
of equally spaced turbines mounted in a circular convex fashion
onto the roof and bottom of the blast cabin with larger machines there are additional turbines mounted to the cabin walls.

RRBK 22/11
Special version with greater pass height. Special
chamber end covers prevent media spillage.

Alternatively the second blast zone of turbines are placed at

an angle relative to the direction of the product transportation.
The blast pattern created by these blast zones allows all-around
blast cleaning together with leading and trailing ends.

Preservation lines

RDR 400 Rsler Rohrstrahlanlage

Rsler roller conveyor blast machines can be upgraded to complete preservation lines (Pre-heater,
blast machine, paint booth, dryer). These lines are complemented by customer-specific component
transport systems.

For single file blast cleaning of bar stock or tubes.
