DESCRIPTION
Rev A
Introduction
When upgrading the ENM to R15 an incorrect alarm may occur in the TNM on links with TPD10GBE-BU. The
reason is an incorrect status flag in the Network Element (NE) that is used by the TNM to establish status of
the optical connection (service). The TNM will as a result incorrectly indicate that the service is down
(RDS24805 & HLP13015 ). See also separate Product Update (100025-0082 R15 Upgrade issue with
TPD10GBE-BU and TNM)
Related to GBE22-EMXP10/II & GBE10-EMXP10/II.The alarm ERP communication failure shows up when
overbooking a ring. This is due to the RAPS PDU messages are not correctly prioritized in hardware. The
RAPS data is sent in queue 0 which makes it possible to starve the ERP control messages. This will cause
the ERP protection to malfunction as the control communication channel is not functional. (RDS25254)
The DC/DC module on TM-3000 (M3000/DC) is stepped to R1G due to producability changes.

Introduction of a new MultiService Mobile Access Solution for native transport of E1/T1 and Ethernet on
same wavelength. This solution entails one rack mounted Collector box plus a 2-slot Hub unit that can
be inserted in a TM-3000 or TM-301 chassis.
- MS Access Collector 16xE1/T1+4xEth (TM-MBA/2), 2.5G line rate
- MS Access Hub 4xSTM-1/OC-3+16xEth (MXP-MBH/1)
MS-MXP:
This release includes a both FW updates and new traffic images;
- FW update to secure interfacing towards older STM-1/OC-3 signals that have slow rise-/fall-time
- FW update to provide DC balanced signal (0101-toggling to avoid DC drift that could lock certain
SFPs) on all images with SDH/SONET interfaces when Forward-ALS is set to off.
- New Traffic image: 4G Muxponder image supporting
3xGbE (Sync-E) + 1x STM-1/-4, OC-3/- 12 with 1+1 protection
- New Traffic image; 4x 2.5G Transponder image high/low-speed
Two Transponders supporting GbE/STM-16, OC-48 and
two Transponders supporting STM-4/-1, OC-12/-3.
The FW updates are traffic affecting.
Introduction of a new series of Ethernet Muxponders EMXP/II having a higher feature set as compared
to the first generation. In this release two units are introduced;
- A single-slot unit with 10x FE/GbE-ports and 2x 10GbE-LAN ports (GBE10-EMXP10G_II)
- A double-slot unit with 22x FE/GbE-ports and 2x 10GbE-LAN ports (GBE22-EMXP10G_II)
The support for the XFP with tunable laser (TRX100090/TC) is now extended to additional XFP-based
Traffic units; TPD10G-L-BU, 4x2G5-MXP10G, GBE22-EMXP10G/II & GBE10-EMXP10G/II,
GBE9/MXP10GFEC, GBE9-MXP10G, TP10GOTN/TC client port.
Introduction of 1:5 Band splitter DWDM units enabling more cost efficient OADM solutions. Half-sized
units. Two versions are introduced; ne operating on even 50GHz channels (BSU1X5/EVEN50G) and
one on the odd 50GHZ channels (BSU1X5/ODD50G)
Introduction of a new series of fiber-based dispersion compensation units having a smaller form factor
(same as for the DFG-based). A separate holder (1U) is provided that support two units. The same
holder can be used for the fiber-based as well as for the DFG-based modules.

Introduction of a new passive configuration of the TM-102 chassis having three half-sized slots, i.e. same
configuration as the passive TM-101 version. The passive TM-101 version will be phased out (LTB
issued Sept 2010). TM102/PAS/3-zz (zz is mounting option, 19, ETSI, 23)
Introduction of an improved DC/DC-module for the TM-301 chassis. This new DC-filter has an increased
input voltage pulse protection, added soft start, reduced power loss.
Introduction of a series of 4ch AD-filters operating at the even 50GHz channels (AD4/50G-E/zzz). The
covered channels match the existing 40ch and 8ch MDU units operating on the even 50GHZ channels.
Introduction of a series of 4ch AD-filters operating at the odd 50GHz channels (AD4/50G-O/zzzz). The
covered channels match the existing 40ch and 8ch MDU units operating on the odd 50GHz channels.
Introduction of a Transmission Design Tool enabling more tailored network designs. Distances up to
1500km can also be achieved under certain conditions.
Changes in product/product name for the separate AC/DC units used for TM-301, TM-102 and TM-101
chassis.

Spare-part CU-SFPs
It is recommended to use spare-part CU-SFP's of release 13.0 or later, the reason is that the replacement will be
easier and quicker. If the spare CU-SFP is of release 13.0 or later a manual upgrade of the software is normally
not necessary. Read the Spare-Part and Maintenance Manual within Volume C of the Operation&Maintenance
manual for more information.

The following uncolored XFPs support loopback:
TRX100044 (1310nm)
TRX100029 (850nm/MM)
The Far-end Loopback is consequently not supported when using TRX100044 or TRX100029. TRX100044 was
initially stated to support loopback, but this function cannot be guaranteed and shall be regarded as nonsupported.
NOTE! This restriction is only relevant for the TPD10G-L-BU unit. All other 10G units with loopback functionality
are performing this without involving the XFPs.

The optical control loop only supports the control unit CU-SFP.
In R15.0 it is impossible to set up an optical control loop with other control units than CU-SFP. In R13.0 it was still
possible to configure a control loop with CU or CUOSC, although it was not a supported feature.

Signal status not reliable on TPD10GbE-BU after TUreboot, but traffic unaffected
When TU is rebooted, either alone or all all, e.g. after sw upgrade, and clientProtection is enabled, rxSignalStatus
is down on first clientport, 1-2. The traffic is unaffected by this, its only the status that gets wrong value.
If only CU is rebooted problem is solved.

When board is set manually to sync on local oscillator and after that coldstarted it will start up without valid sync
source.
This will lead to unpredictable sync behaviour and probably trafic hits.

The time is set back 30-40 min after reboot for units
including RTC
After a reboot of the MBA the time is set back 30-40 min, if the time for reboot is between hh:40 and hh:59.This
problem occurs on:
PCU/2P
MS-MXP10G/TC-ER
GBE10-EMXP10/II
GBE22-EMXP10/II
MS-MXP/10G
TM-MBA/2
MX-MBH/1
When the boards are mounted in a CU system, this problem is not visible because the time is adjusted from the
CU at once. When the boards are operating in CU-less systems the time will be incorrect until the time is adjusted
either manually or from the NTP-server.

If SONET is chosen for the MXP-MBH/1, Option 1 is chosen as Jitter Attenuation Bandwidth on an STM-1 client,
and if the TM-MBA/2 is coldstarted, the parameters to the loop filter will be set as it was E1, option 1 instead of
the wanted T1, option 1.

Description:
When rebooting the traffic unit (TU) this results in a traffic disturbance. When the TU boots up it will clear all
configuration in hardware, wait for new configuration from the controller unit (CU) and then reconfigure the
hardware. This causes the traffic to go down for approximately 15-30s, the actual time depends on the
configuration size etc.

Remedy
There is no workaround for this (other than telling the user to not reboot the TU).
Note that rebooting the CU, with configuration saved, does not cause a traffic hit

Description:
When trying to reboot the CU in ENM GUI
(maintenance -> action: restart main CU -> Apply)
a warning message pops up saying:
"There will be traffic hits on gbe22Emxp10Gii and gbe10Emxp10Gii during a reboot. Do you still want to continue?
OK Cancel."
This message is not correct. It should not be displayed when restarting the CU. When there are no changes in
configuration.
A Restart/Reboot of the CU does not cause a traffic disturbance on the EMXP2. When there are NO unsaved
changes at reboot.
Traffic is affected at:
1) Reboot of EMXP2 (TU).
2) CU restart with new configuration. examples:
2a) Reboot of CU with unsaved config.
2b) Activation of new configuration file on CU.
