Menu CUMM: Start with the function A for creating a new ID and press F 4. You will be taken to
the first page of the section General Details. You can enter all the mandatory fields using the key

F 4. This section contains 8 pages; use F 6 to go to the next page and pressing F 6 from the last
page of the section (page 8), will bring you back to page 1.

The following fields, though not mandatory, are quite important; it is therefore, advisable not to
miss entering details in these fields, if information is available.
Date of Birth: This assumes importance when the customer becomes a senior citizen.
Mobile No.: If this field is left unentered, the customer is deprived of the benefit of Mobile
Alerts in respect of transactions happening in his/her account.
PAN/GIR no.: a) PAN card could be one of the ID documents submitted for opening the account.
It is also essential to ensure that the authenticity of this document is thoroughly checked.
PANVAL is the Menu Option to confirm the genuineness of PAN. This option will link you to the
Income tax site directly and confirm the genuineness of the PAN declared.
(Features of PAN - First 5 characters should be alphabets. While the first three and the fifth
can be any of the alphabets, the FOURTH has to be one among the following:
C Company, P Individuals, H HUF, F firm, A Association of persons, T Trust, B- Body of
Individuals, L Local authority, J Artificial Judicial Person, G Govt.)
b) You can create a Cust ID without entering PAN details. However, in accounts opened using such
Cust IDs, you will not be able to deposit cash exceeding Rs.50,000 on any day.
c) If PAN details are not available at the time of creating the Cust iD, you will be forced to choose
the code TDS99 in the field Tax Slab. This in turn, means that TDS has to be deducted @20%
and there is no way the customer can avoid this.

Tax Code: Depending upon the current annual interest income(projected till FY end), appropriate
tax code should be selected from the drop down list. This determines the rate at which, TDS on
the interest earned will be effected. Remember, if PAN details are not furnished by the customer,
the only code which the system will permit you to use will be TDS99 which implies deduction of tax
at source at a flat rate of 20%.
Once you complete entering data in all mandatory / important fields spread over all the 8 pages of
the section through the F 4 route, the cursor will come to the box with the field name Enter
Option on the first page.
The next option to be selected is K KYC details. Usually, with a single F 4, you should be allowed
entry in to any section; however, in this case, as soon as you press F 4 once, you will get a message
Invalid Customer Master Option Code. Press F 4 once again, the section opens.

The mandatory

fields to be entered here are 1. Photo ID code 2. Address ID. Once all the mandatory fields in the
section are entered, F 4 will bring you back to the option window. Enter the next option E
Currency Details.
Before accepting the Ref. No.s entered by you for any of the documents produced as Photo ID or
Address ID, the system cross checks whether there are any Cust IDs already existing in the
database where documents with the same ref. No.s have been used.

Once you enter option E Currency Details, explode (Ctrl + E) after selecting a currency. The
currency that you choose here, will determine the currency in which transactions will be allowed in
the accounts to be opened by you under this Cust iD in future. You will enter 0 (zero) in all the
fields there. Press F 4 twice to come back to the option window.
It is possible to attach most of the recognized world currencies to the customer ID. To add a
second/subsequent currency to the Cust ID, once you complete entering the details for the
previous currency and F 4, press down arrow to get in to another currency. After completing
currency Details for all the currencies, press F 4 to reach the option window.
With a F 10, you will get a 9 digit (all numerals) customer ID which is required to be verified as
usual.
Verification: Menu CUMM Fn. V to be used for verification by an officer. You will be getting the
General Details Section first. Until you go through all the pages (8) of this section, you can not
complete verification. You can ensure this by visiting all the 8 pages using F 6 and when you come
back to the first page, use F 4 to get in to the option box. Visit option E by pressing F 4. Explode, F
4 and F 4 will bring you back to the option box. The last mandatory visit will be to the KYC Details
section using the option K. Here again, after entering K, press F 4 twice to enter the section. An F

All the mandatory fields of this section are already default populated with appropriate values and
you dont have to enter anything here. As usual a F 4 will bring you out of the section.
The next mandatory section is Nomination Details (N). This section becomes mandatory because
of the fact that the field Availing Nomination Facility? in the section Scheme Details is default
populated with Y. Enter the relevant details here and come out with a F 4.

Menu option ACNOM can be used for generating letters to those depositors who have NOT chosen
to nominate. The letter explains the benefits of nomination and urges the customer to register his

Present procedure for opening of Accounts:

As we have seen, the process of opening an account involves considerable work creating a
customer ID and then using another menu for opening the account. If all the details collected from
the customer are to be entered in Finacle, this will prove to be a time consuming job.
Attempts have since been made to combine these two works in to a single menu and reduce the time
involved in the opening process.
The procedure followed currently is as under:
a.

Branches will create a customer ID/Account ID simultaneously using a single menu

HOPNACTT. The data entered here is the barest minimum.

b. The documents submitted by the customers with Cust IDs / Account IDs opened as above
will be forwarded to Regional Back Offices(RBOs). .

Each branch is attached to a

designated Back Office. All other unentered data about the customer / account will be
updated at the RBO including the issuance of cheque book / ATM card / Internet Banking
c.

facility.
In exceptional cases, the branch can create the cust ID/ Account ID at the branch itself
using the menu SAO.

All activities subsequent to the opening of the account - like inquiry or modification are to be
handled through the menu HACM or ACM.

For generating the statement of account, HACLI or

ACLI can be used. HACM or ACM is a comprehensive menu through which anything and everything
about an account can be inquired. Menus for printing a passbook is PBP while for printing a
statement of account it is PSP.
To know about all the features of any scheme code (product) make use of the menu GSPI.
How to generate / view statement of account?

You can generate / view the statement of any customer account using the menu ACLI or HACLI.
The first screen in which you are required to enter the ID of the account which you would like to
view, contains two fields Start Date and End Date. By default, todays or system date will be
appearing in both these fields. This implies that the statement that will be generated will cover
transactions for today (system date) only. If you need a statement from an earlier period, change
the start date appropriately.
The transactions that you see in the statement will be listed on the basis of the dates on which
they have actually taken place. However, if you want them rearranged on the basis of value date,
change the default value in the field Tran/Value Date? from T to V.
How to modify an Account?
Let us try to modify an account by adding a second depositor. The menu to be used is ACM (or
HACM in ONS mode) Fn. Modify. F 4 after entering the account ID will take the cursor inside the
Option window at the bottom of the screen. The option to be selected for adding a second
depositor to the account is A Related Party Details. Once you press F 4, you will get a screen
containing details about the already existing Main Holder of the account. The right hand bottom
of the screen shows 1 of 1. Since you have to enter the details of the second depositor (joint
holder), you have to get in to a new record/page by pressing the down arrow. This record 2 of 2 is
a blank page and you can enter the details of the second depositor here. The mandatory fields to be
entered are Relation Type and Name. Of course, you should also enter vital details like address
and phone no. of the second depositor. By pressing F 4, you can again come back to the Enter
Option window and to complete the job, press F 10.
The addition becomes effective if and only if it is verified by an officer.

As you know, all modifications to any record account ID / Cust ID etc. become effective only
after verification. And Finacle will not allow you to modify any record unless and until, the previous
modification to the same record remains unverified/ cancelled.

If you do not know what

modifications have been done to the record as also which user has done those modifications, it
becomes difficult for you to verify/cancel those modifications.
Using the menu AFI you can locate all non-financial modifications effected in a record during any
given period of time.
Important fields seen here are as follows:
Name of the Field

changing the value N in the field Del Flag to Y. Next, by pressing down arrow, open a new page
(record) 3 of 3 and enter the details of the new person. You can not add a new person here if this
person is not a customer of the Bank; ie. he should have a cust ID. If he does not have one, create
a Cust ID in his name. Press F 10 from the Enter Option field and get it verified by an officer.

another menu SSPBP, which is an ONS menu. The menu actually links the unique no. printed on the
passbook to the account ID. The depositor can himself print his passbook in any branch (where the
special passbook printing machine is installed) without any ID proof / password etc.
How to close an Account?
Before actually closing an account and refunding the balance in the account to the customer, the
following processes are required to be gone through:
a) Collect and destroy all the unused cheque leaves, if cheque books have been issued to the
customer using the menu CHBM.
b) Pay up to date interest on the account ; this is ensured by the system when you use the
menu CAAC.
c) Recover all the charges on the account, if applicable. System will prompt you to use the
menu CACC for this purpose; dont forget to verify using the same menu and ensuring that
the system created transaction, if any is also posted and verified. If necessary, use TM to
