BUSINESS PLAN: Wound Clinic

Wound Clinics has been in need these days. An Emergency Room is sufficient to attend
to your needs but if ever you have a Surgical Problem that is not life threatening the triage team
can put you off and be attended later. The wound clinic however specializes on surgical
ambulatory cases that is in no need of hospitalizations and provides immediate treatment and
wound care. This wound clinic would be the first here in Bacolod City.
Our unit is made up of a group of professionals who work together to give you comprehensive
treatments for wound healing. Doctors and nurses who have undergone special training in wound
care are joined by other well-trained staff to provide services specific to wound care. Throughout
treatment, your primary doctor will participate in your care and be kept informed of your
progress. We have 2 minor rooms for minor operations and we can accommodate up to 6
ambulatory patients.

To provide immediate quality wound treatment and care.


To give proper information and health teachings on wound treatment and care
To give proper referrals on cases that needs to be hospitalize
To initially stabilize surgical cases before transport for hospitalization

A 17 year old male patient came in due to an avulse wound at the left arm because he had a
motorcycle accident. The wound is 2 inches long and 3cm wide and actively bleeding.
Wound Clinic Management:
First get the complete Data of the patient by letting the patient or folks fill up the wound
clinic form
Refer to the resident on duty
Cleanse the wound with PNNS irrigation, hydrogen peroxide and betadine and cover it
with a gauze and bandage temporarily to hold the bleeding
Give TT and HTIG
If suturing is ordered, prepare the minor set and assist the patient to the minor room then
assist the resident in suturing the wound.
Have patient settle the bill prior to giving him the discharge orders
Give patient the home instructions once bill is settled and instruct to come back after 2
weeks for suture removal. Prescribe the proper antibiotics as ordered.
