I. Title: Troy

II. Summary:
It started when Paris took Helen from her husband, King Menelaus. King
Menelaus asked for King Agamemnons help to take back his wife. King Agamemnon
helped not because he wanted to return Helen but because he wanted to conquer
Troy. King Agamemnon unites a big army of Greeks to get Helen back from Troy.
Achilles had a hard time to decide whether he will go or not. After talking with his
mother, he decides to go because he wanted to be remembered.
King Priam chooses whether to return Helen or declare war against Greeks.
Paris did not want to return Menelaus stolen wife, so war is the only way. The
Greeks then sailed to Troy. Achilles was one of the first to arrive. He started
fighting against Trojans and destroyed Apollos temple. The next day, Achilles and
his troops did not fight against the Trojans because he and Agamemnon fought
about Briseis.
To end the war, Paris challenged Menelaus to a duel, the winner will have
Helen. But Agamemnon still plans to take over Troy no matter what. Paris was easily
defeated and was wounded seriously. Hector had killed Menelaus when he tried to
save his brother. The Greeks attacked but the Trojans counter back. It was a
bloody fight. Achilles and his troops are preparing to leave when he heard that
Patroclus was killed by Hector during their encounter. Achilles had nothing about
Patroclus death so he decided to fight.

The Greeks plan was to construct a wooden horse, the Trojans will think
that it is a peace offering and will take it inside the palace. But, the Greek are
really inside the horse and plans to fight. When Achilles had the chance to kill
Hector, he did it. But unfortunately Paris saw the whole thing, he shoot an arrow
towards Achilles heel, his weak point. Breseis tried to save Achilles but it was too
late, the arrow was poisoned. The Greeks retreated.

III. Character Analysis:

Paris is the prince of Troy and the abductor of Helen, who is the queen of
Sparta, and they fell in love with each other.
King Menelaus is Helens husband and is the king of Sparta. King Agamemnon
is the king of Mycenae and he also is King Menelaus brother. King Agamemnon has
almost captured every city in Greece and commands them.
Achilles is considered to be the greatest warrior by that time. Patroclus is
Achilles cousin and companion. Breseis is a Trojan and was the love interest of
Achilles.
King Priam is the king of the walled city of Troy. Prince Hector is King
Priams son and Paris brother. He is also called the defender of Troy.

IV. Reaction on the film:

The story is based on Homers Iliad and it tells the story of the Trojan War.
So it gave me an idea about Greek Mythology. At first I watched the movie
because my teacher back in high school required us to watch it. When I watched
the movie, I was very impressed. It is not boring like other old movies I watched.
It is a movie that I will never forget and it is one of my favorites. It has a great
story and great actors, so, what more will you ask for?
