Management .
1.It is systematic , analytical & objective approach to solve
industrial problems.
2.It implies scientific techniques in method of work
,recruitment , selection & training

of workers .
3.It attempts to discover the best method of doing a work at
the cheapest cost .
4.It discard the age old method of the rules of thumb & hit or
miss approach .
5.It involves complete change in the mental attitude of
workers as well as the management .
6.It lays emphasis on all factors of production ,men , mental ,
material & technology .
Originally , the principles of Scientific Management were applied to
engineering establishment . This was due to the fact that F.W.Taylor ,
its founder , was associated wit such industries . “the same
principle can be applied with equal force to all social activities
; to the management of our homes , the management of the
business of our tradesmen , large & small , of our churches ,
of our philanthropic instructions , our universities & our
government department “

Scientific Management aims to develop each man to his


greatest efficiency & prosperity .the objective is to increase
production & productivity , reduce the cost of production &
maximize prosperity both for employer , whose interest are
common & not opposite to each other.
Scientific Management lays importance on the capital so as to
maximize the advantage to both management & workmen. it
involves a complete change of mental attitude on the part of
management as well as labours .

worker instead of the old practice of allowing the
worker to choose his own work & to train himself.
