You are going to take a computer based online Test at a workstation. On reporting to the test centre, you will be registered, assigned to a particular workstation. The administrator will guide you to the workstation. Do not carry any of your belongings except pencils & pens to the workstation where you are expected to take the test. Use of calculators, and cellular phones is not permitted. Kindly switch off your cellular phones hand over to the security before you proceed to your workstation. A scribble pad will be provided at the workstation for your rough work. No additional booklet will be provided. You are not allowed to eat or smoke in the examination hall. The administrator is authorized to dismiss you from the test session for any of the following reasons: o Creating disturbance. o Attempting to take the test on behalf of someone else. o Talking to other test taker/s. o Attempting to tamper with the computer system either hardware or software. o Use of calculators, cell phones, concealed microphones, wireless devices or any other material that may aid in answering questions. TIMING & BREAKS The test you are taking is the On-line GAT and the duration is 150 minutes. You will be taking the on-line test at a workstation. On completion of this test, please raise your hand. The Administrator will then provide you with your score card. No break is permitted between the sections of the online GAT. TESTING PROCEDURE : ON-LINE GAT The Online Test you are about to take has 100 questions in three sections : o
Section I- Verbal Ability (Proficiency in English) consists of 28 questions.
Section II: Quantitative (Mathematical) Ability, consists of 43 questions.
Section III : Analytical / Logical Reasoning, consists of 29 questions.
In each of these sections, every question is followed by either 4 or 5 answer options.
Choose the option that is most appropriate. Indicate your answer by clicking on the circle adjacent to the option you think is right. You can go to any section or question directly by clicking on the question number, which will appear at the bottom of the screen. The answered question number will be marked red and the unanswered / skipped question number will remain in black. If you are doubtful of an answer, you can mark a question for review which will be indicated with an arrow mark (^) under the question number. To unmark the question marked for review you have to come back to the same question and click on the question number. If you want to change your answer to any question, you may select the question and change the answer by clicking on the appropriate answer. By clicking on the already answered option you can deselect the same. There is no negative marking. You have the option of hiding the timer displayed at the top of the screen and activating it whenever you want to. However, the timer pops up 5 minutes before the time allotted ends. On completion of the allotted time, the computer screen will automatically display the test completed page. Once you complete the on-line test, your score will be displayed on the screen. Raise your hand once the score appears on the screen. The Administrator will give you the score card. CONCERNS If you have concerns about the wording of a test question, make a note of the same on your scratch paper / booklet and report to the Administrator at the end of the test. You need to report the question itself, not the question number as the questions are randomly generated. SCORING INFORMATION The score that is generated on completion of the test indicates the total number of questions attempted correctly, the total number of questions in each section, your percentage in each section, and also your overall percentage.
