that

Summarize

your
Accomplishments
Contributions
Experiences
Philosophy
Goals
Skills and abilities
Activities
Growth
Insights
Originality

Your portfolio will be based on the Ontario College of Teachers five Standards of
Practice for the Teaching Profession as follows:
Commitment to Students and Student Learning
Professional Knowledge
Professional Practice
Leadership in Learning Communities
Ongoing Professional Learning
Guidelines
The portfolio will be a thoughtfully organized array or collection of at least five
artifacts one related to each of the five standards that illustrate your
growth, development and achievements as a practising teacher.
Each artifact must be accompanied by a reflective piece that explains why it was
chosen. You will present each artifact and your reflections in a 10-minute
presentation to one of the instructors and a small group of your peers during the
week of April 6, 2015. You will be notified of your date, time and place, through
an announcement on BlackBoard.

The entirety of the portfolio will be graded based on its content as presented and
also on your responses to questions posed by the instructor or your fellow
students; however, we reserve the right to request written evidence of your
collection, selection and reflection process (including but not limited to your
preparatory notes for the presentation).
NEW FOR THE SECOND PRESENTATION:
At least one portfolio artifact must give evidence of a unit that you planned and
taught during your time at the school. **If there are any issues with your
Associate Teacher in doing this, speak to either Lee or Chris in advance.
At least one portfolio artifact must relate to your practice in the area of special
education.
At least one portfolio artifact must relate to your practice in the area of diversity,
equity and social justice.
Your presentation should explicitly reference your growth since the Fall
practicum. How you represent this is up to you.
The format of your presentation is your prerogative. You may present a PPT (on
your laptop and not on a projector screen given the small size of each
presentation group) or share your artifacts in hard copy. Bear in mind time
constraints any technology issues will be counted against your 10 minutes (low
tech = low risk).
Demonstrates presentation skills such as eye contact, clear presentation voice,
topic relevance.
