Concepts
The portfolio for Biomedical Science programme will be a collection of students effort,
progress and accomplishment throughout the programme. This portfolio focuses on
students reflection on their learning process and transformation from knowledgeable
students to competent scientist with analytical and critical minds, important traits that are
emphasized in the programmes outcomes (Table 1). There will be no summative
components in this portfolio, since most contents (eg. Practical reports, AIR, Thesis...)
already contribute to EOS marks.
Contents
All components in the portfolio are arranged into 3 parts Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. Mentors
are required to review their mentees portfolio regularly, at least once in the middle of
semester and end of semester respectively. Mentors are also required to mark the reflective
writings and give suggestions and guidance to mentees on their personal and professional
development.
There are general guidelines provided on the content of year-end reflect. However, students
are free to reflects on any subject(s)/issue(s) in the learning process.
