Scope of Work:
In August 2010 the Chiyoda JGC Joint Venture (CJJV) awarded the
contract to design and construct the LNG and condensate offloading
jetty for the PNG LNG project to the BAM Clough Joint Venture.
The award represents a third contract for Clough on the PNG LNG
Project.
The LNG and condensate jetty will be constructed adjacent to the
planned LNG facility twenty kilometres northwest of Port Moresby
on the coast of the Gulf of Papua, utilising an anticipated workforce
of 500 people. The scope includes the design and construction of a
2.4kilometre long trestle with substation platform, loading platform
and single LNG load-out berth.

In October 2010, BAM Clough received an additional Letter of Intent for the fabrication and construction of the
topsides for the PNG LNG condensate offloading jetty. The second contract is valued at approximately
$53 million, bringing the total value of contracts awarded to BAM Clough for the PNG LNG jetty project to
$376 million.
An integrated design team within the project organisation ensures short communication lines and frequent
constructability reviews integrated throughout the development of the design.

Project Execution:
The approach-trestle consists of precast concrete headstocks on steel piles with precast concrete T-beams over
the concrete headstocks for the roadway.
The pre-cast structural elements are fabricated at BAMs Decorient Precast Yard in Indonesia and transported to
site.
The pipe-rack modules (topsides) are fabricated and assembled at Cloughs Sattahip Fabrication Yard in Thailand
and transported to site for installation.

BAM Clough has designed and fabricated a Cantilever Bridge (CLB) (see image above left) and its supporting
equipment such as a Self Propelled Trailer (see image above right). This CLB will be used for the construction
of the approach trestle over a section of water which is not accessible by conventional marine spread thereby
leaving a minimal environmental footprint.
