A Bad Workman Always Blames His Tools.

People can generally be classified into two groups those who have talents and
those who have not. A really talented person succeeds in his work. He makes use
of his abilities properly and achieves good results. He is confident of doing his
work. He uses his tools in the right way, even if they are not excellent. At the
same time, if a badly talented person even if given excellent tools, fails to
achieve good results. His talents are limited. He tries to find lame excuses for his
failure to achieve good results. He blames his tools for the bad work he has done.
He does not want to admit that he is a bad workman. He deliberately forgets the
fact that his talents are limited. Even if good opportunities are provided for the
less talented person, he fails to exploit such chances and succeed in life. But if
the talented person is given the right opportunity, he makes use of it to the full,
thereby achieving his goal in life. While the former blames the opportunities and
people around him for his failure, the latter without complaint utilizes them and
succeeds in life.
A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand
There goes a famous saying A house divided against itself cannot stand. The
meaning is quite simple. This saying is similar to the saying United we stand,
divided we fall.
A house in which all the family members are united is one which is laid on a firm
foundation. On the other hand, a house where all the family members are
constantly in a fight against each other cannot stand however strong bricks are
laid. Time and again, we have seen the examples which prove the significance of
unity under any circumstances.
Just like it is impossible to break a few sticks which are tied up together instead
of a single stick, similarly it is impossible to harm a family where the family
members stay deeply united throughout their life. When unity is absent among
the members of the family, peace of mind too ceases to exist.

Today almost all the families present in our societies are nuclear families as a
result of which, a child from the very beginning does not understand what
actually is the significance of unity in a family.
From the very beginning every child becomes accustomed to live in a way that
never in the short span of his life he understands the significance of what it
means to stay in a joint family. A house which is internally divided does not even
gets its share of happiness; the happiness that is the right of each and every
member of the family. When a family or family members are not closely knit with
each other, the outsiders take the advantage of the situation and the family
members are left with nothing. The situation becomes similar to the situation
where two cats fight endlessly over a nut and the monkey takes it away. What is
the result? The cats involved in the fight are left with nothing.
Same is the condition of the human beings in a family. It is important for all of us
to understand the fact that it is our family and our family members at the end of
the day that come to our rescue if ever we are stuck in a mess.

No other outsider can think about your well-being more than your family
members. The bitter truth is that not even your closest friends will take you out
of a mishap or a mess; it is the family which will take you out from any such
situation.
The sooner an individual understands this fact, the better. If we closely take a
look at all the families that are happy even in tough times, we will understand
the fact that this happiness springs out of the roots of unity. All the parents
should instill the idea of the significance of unity in the minds of their children for
the betterment of their future.
An idle mind is the devils workshop - Story
You must have heard the phrase an idle mind is the devils workshop. A
persons mind cannot really by idle- it is always busy. But an idle person uses his
mind to think up evil things while a busy person has not time to dwell on
anything but his work.
A person who has no work to do becomes lazy. He starts thinking of an easy,
quick way of making a living. He might start stealing and become a criminal
because he does not like to do hard, honest work.
Goethe wrote, Nature knows no pause and attaches a curse upon inaction.
Indeed, it is a cruse to remain idle. We must all make every effort to keep
ourselves occupied. The more a person works, the more he progresses.
A man was once given a small piece of land. It was in the midst of a vast, arid
wasteland. But he was happy to get this land and decide to work on it. He built a
small wooden shack next to which he made a kitchen garden. He planted some
wheat and pulses in the garden to help him survive, but since the surrounding
areas were dry he had to fetch water from a distant steam. The man would wake
up every early each morning and tend his kitchen garden.
As the days went by, the plants needed more water; the man realized that he
could not fetch enough water from the steam and that he must dig a well near
his garden. It took many days of hard work to dig the well. At last a day came
when he touched water level. The farmer was so happy that he took a bath with
the water even though it was muddy. He dug dipper and soon he had clear, fresh
water for himself and his land.
Once the well was made, the farmer was able to cultivate more land. He bought
the adjoining land and became a wealth and highly respected farmer. As time
passed he built a big house and a show-case he kept a bucket, a rope, a shovel
and the imprint of his hands for these were the basis of his success.
The wealthy farmer employed many workers but this not mean that he sat idle.
He kept improving his farm. He bought farm machinery, learnt how to use it and
how to repair it in case it went out of order. Then he started a dairy farm and
followed this up breeding cattle. And all the while he read books on agriculture,
dairy farming, machinery repair and many other subjects. He was happy to be
busy and he prospered.
By keeping our minds busy we develop and improve. A busy person is a happy
person. Idleness, on the other hand, makes a person indolent, moody and bored.

A person who knows the value of being busy also knows the value of time. He
does not waste his time in gossip. He does not spend his spare time daydreaming. Instead, he utilizes his time in fruitful occupations. Even if he is
traveling in a bus, he uses his time to read a book or study human behavior or
think about his work. There was once a man who read all the volumes of
Churchills History of Mankind while commuting in a bus from his home to the
office.
You can achieve marvels if you know how to usefully employ your time. If you do
not have any studies to do, look around for something else to do. Sports and
games are very good because they keep your mind alert. Having a hobby is one
of the best ways of using your spare time. Other ways of keeping busy are to
clean your almirahs or bicycle, to remove the weeds from your garden, to learn
to cook a dish almost any activity is worthwhile if you find it interesting.
FORGIVE AND FPRGET
A wise woman and her young disciple were walking down the street. Suddenly,
out of nowhere, an angry man in a carriage drove haphazardly by the two,
insensitively pushing the woman out of his way. She landed in a ditch filled with
muddy water. The woman yelled after the man in the carriage, "May you have
everything you want!" The disciple, surprised by the wise woman's response,
said: "I'm confused. Why did you say that to a man with such horrible behavior?"
The woman replied, "Because a happy man wouldn't have thoughtlessly pushed
a woman into a ditch."
Do you agree with this woman's response? In my book The Bounce Back Book, I
offer empowering strategies for embracing forgiveness and liberating yourself
from anger and bitternesseven in the most challenging situations.
Here are eight strategies to free you from your resentments starting today!
Say a Prayer
Whenever angry feelings about a person who's harmed you enter your mind, tell
yourself: "We are all good, loving souls who occasionally get lost." Pray for this
person to find their way back to a happier placein the same way the woman in
this story prayed for her offender.
Focus on Gratitude
Resist seeking happiness from the outside in. Instead, focus on gratitude
exercises to bring happiness from the inside out. If you allow your self-image to
be at the mercy of unpredictable events and unreliable people, your happiness
will be forever on a chaotic roller coaster ride! Happiness must always be an
inside joy! When you are tempted to focus on all the ways the world has done
you wrong, instead count your blessings by making a list of the five aspects of
your life that you appreciate. It is good practice to purposefully end your day this
way to keep focused.
Look for the Lesson
Many Buddhists consider huge difficulties to be a sign you're an old soulthe
bigger your misfortunes, the closer you are to enlightenment. Whether you
believe this or not, it's certainly cheery to reframe all your...
A Good Beginning Makes a Good Ending
A Good Beginning Makes a Good Ending
It`s always interesting to begin something new. And if the beginning is good, the
end may also be good. If we think of such a problem as choosing a profession,
we must know everything about this or that profession. This may be done by

going to the library and by reading widely; also by talking to adults who know
much about this profession. I also need to think about how well I can do what I
would like to do. Perhaps the best way to prepare for any job is to get a good
education to do well at school and university, and to learn all I can outside of
them. Jobs change and new ones are constantly appearing. By reading and
talking to people we`ll learn what great opportunities there will be for us. If a
school leaver wants to get a higher education, the best way to it is through
particular work. Most school leavers will work a few years at a factory or plant
before entering the University. They will have time to think over their decisions
and they a good knowledge of life.
Life of Youth in Ukraine
Youth is the future of our country. Are all young people alike? Of course, not. But
they have got similar problems. They want to go their own way, have their own
style of clothes, even their own language youth slang. They want to be
independent from their parents and teachers. But they don`t know how to do
that. Often parents are too busy earning money for bringing up and educating
their children. They can`t give their children attention and understanding. That`s
why teenagers easily come under the influence of other people. They find idols
among famous singers, sportsmen, actors and politicians. They try to copy them
blindly from hairstyles and clothes to bad habits as smoking and even drugs.
Young people are crazy about music. They organize their own fan clubs. But a lot
of them are talented, creative.
All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy. :

Hard and industrious work is necessary to achieve our goals in life. But
concentration on work alone with no recreation tends to make a person dull and
unsociable. The minds constitution is such that it can work for a long time. But
at the same time, proper relaxation is absolutely necessary to keep it from
getting overtaxed. An overtaxed mind loses all social spirit making the
personality dull. Often children are made to study their lessons continuously so
as to get good results in examinations. But this rather tends to make a child just
a bookworm with no social abilities. Furthermore, a relaxed mind is a rejuvenated
one. It retrieves all its capacities to absorb knowledge after proper recreation.
Recreation revitalizes the minds inborn abilities. That is why we stress
extracurricular activities in school routine. A balanced scheme of work and
recreation is the proper way to keep the mind in trim shape. This is especially
very important in the case of children because it is the age when the personality
of the child is being moulded. In short, work with no recreation will make Jack a
dull boy. On the other hand, a combination of work with recreation will make him
a properly balanced person.
Cut your coat according to your cloth.

This proverb advises to cut and stitch the coat according to the cloth available in
hand also warns that the size of the coat should not exceed the piece of the cloth
in hand. Or else the coat will be unfit to wear or the cloth will become wasted,
being not able to make a wearable cast. It is necessary for everyone to make a
proper plan before one begins to put any task into practice. A person who spends
more than his income will soon fall into trouble. He has to face the financial
problems and hardships and thereby mental agony. So this proverb instructs to
live within our means and resources. Those who do not know to make both ends
meet would suffer much and their lives would become miserable. Thus harmony
and proportion are very much essentials for income and expenditure.

Some people are showy in life in order to make others to think that they are
sophisticated and rich. Seeing others being rich and great one should not
imagine oneself like them. One must build a castle on the ground not in the
air with a strong foundationthat too within his means and ability so as it
should stand last long. When building is constructed the base must be very
strong to bear the weight of the whole building. If one does something without
knowing his limitation he will soon repent his action. If a person spends more
than ones income, he will have fall in some or the other peril. So this proverb we
should spend money according to our income and resources.
Do not look a gifted horse in the mouth.
This is an old English proverb which says that we should not ungrateful when we
receive a gift. A gift is given out of love and affection and so checking the quality
of the gift is not a right thing to do. When we receive a gift the important thing is
not the value of the object, but the fact that somebody wanted to make us feel
special in life. As horses age their teeth begin to project further forward each
year and so their age can be estimated by checking how prominent the teeth
are. Every year September 5th teachers day is celebrated throughout the nation.
On other occasions of celebrations and functions rich gifts are presented. On
teachers day students used to present pens to their teachers to show their
respect and love. Teachers dont consider it an invaluable one or an unwanted
one. They whole heartedly accept those small gifts and bless them.
Write an essay on Your Ideal of a Truly Great Man:- Mahatma Gandhi
Nidhesh Kumar
Ideals vary with regard to everything. So every man has his own ideal of human
greatness. Some worship the man of power, some look up for inspiration to the
silent, patient worker, who is dedicated to knowledge, trying to keep the torch of
science and philosophy burning like Einstein, C. V. Raman or Satyen Bose. There
are others, again, who love the man of action, the doer of deeds as Stalin in
Russia or Netaji Subhas Ch. Bose in India and outside. And there may be others
also, who are impressed by the man who obeys the inner call and renounces the
world and dedicates himself to duties of love and service, like Swami
Vivekananda.
But my ideal of a great man is something different from any of those mentioned
above. A great man, in my opinion, must be, above all littleness, the petty
jealousies and prejudices that afflict the ordinary man. He must be dedicated to
a noble ideal, entirely selfless, free from all narrowness, truthful in speech,
fearless in action, but polite in manners and yet a lion in spirit. He must appeal
to the noblest elements of our nature. Such a great man has faith in the
fundamental values of life. He must be a dreamer of dreams and a doer of deeds;
among the great, equal to the greatest, among the humble one of the humblest.
Such a man is, no doubt, rare. But here in India we had one who fulfilled all
these. He is Mahatma Gandhi and him I regard as my ideal great man. Born on
October 2, 1869 be had the usual education of the son of well-to-do Indian
parents. He spent a few years at school where from he matriculated; and then,
against much opposition, he went to England, where he qualified as a barrister.
But from the moment that he learnt to think for himself, he followed the path of
truth. He had vowed to his mother to abstain from animal food and wine. While in
England, no temptation or inducement could make him false to his vow. A pledge
once given was, for Gandhiji, a sacred trust.

He subsequently went to South Africa and there he discovered his true vocation.
He found the Indian community suffering under the most humiliating indignities.
He took up the cause of his countrymen and organized the famous 'passive
resistance' movement on Tolstoys principles. For ten years, he struggled,
suffering imprisonments and other punishments. In the end he succeeded in
getting many of the anti-Indian laws amended.
In 1915 he returned to India. In course of the next few years, be became a
political leader whose integrity ever one came to admire and whose convincing
arguments few could resist. In an age of violence he fearlessly preached and
practiced the gospel of nonviolence. To the unarmed people of India, he brought
the weapons of Non-co-operation and Civil Disobedience. He felt in himself the
woeful poverty of his people and literally put on a beggar's robe show his
identification with their cause. For wearing a loin-cloth Winston Churchill jeeringly
called him the 'half-naked' Fakir.
But nothing would deter Gandhiji. Beggar though he made himself, (eating meal
daily that cost him six pieces), no prince could match his dignified selfassurance. He spoke without rhetoric, but his elequence touched the inmost
chords of our heart.
He went to the Round Table Conference in London in 1932 to get justice for his
countrymen. In prison or in other places his mind remained serene. His heart was
big with love and sympathy for humanity. But he always retained the logic of a
scientific thinker. He did know what his people wanted, the freedom that meant
life, the food they were denied, and out of his knowledge came his plans for
giving them food flag and freedom'. In his Satyagraha of 1931 these ideals were
upheld.
During the Second World War he refused to compromise with his gospel of
ahimsa, or to co-operate with the British in their war against Hitler, unless he
could do so as a free citizen of a free country. The record of his life during these
years is, indeed, the political history of India.
He went to Noakhali to soothe and assuage the feelings of the Hindus who had
suffered from Muslem atrocities. He went to Patna to heal the sufferings of the
Moslems. He went to Delhi and each day he preached love and communal amity
in his post prayer meetings. In one such meeting, on 30th January, 1948 an
insensate fanatic, unable to bear his message of goodwill, shot him dead. It was
a noble death, much like that of Christ's crucifixion. Humanity will realize afresh
the way of Peace that was Gandhjji's article of faith as the apostle of Nonviolence. Let us revere his memory by preaching "Peace upon earth and
goodwill to all men."
