Model& Version

In APO, you can create and maintain planning versions for a supply chain model for simulation purposes.
There is only one active model (000) with one active version. The active planning version is 000. A model
is used to describe the strategic view of the master data in a supply chain from a planning perspective.
The planning version is always used for tactical simulation. The planning version is always based on a
model.

Refer the standard Model 000 and Version 000.

1.Master Planning Object Structure

MPOS: Master planning object structures are prerequisites for creating planning areas in Supply
and Demand Planning. In Demand Planning you can assign any characteristics that exist in the
system to the master planning object structure. A master planning object structure contains plannable
characteristics for one or more planning areas. Characteristics determine the levels on which you can
plan and save data.
Configuration:
SAP menu - Advanced Planning and Optimization - Demand Planning Environment Administration of
Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning
Transaction Code: /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN
Use the standard one - 9ASNPBAS
Procedure:
1. Click on Planning Area
2. From the drop down menu, select Plng object structures
Please refer the standard MPOS for SNP - 9ASNPBAS

2 . Storage Bucket Profile

Storage buckets profile: A storage buckets profile defines the time buckets in which data
based on a given planning area is saved in Demand Planning or Supply Network Planning.
Configuration:
SAP menu - Advanced Planning and Optimization - Demand Planning Environment - Current Settings Periodicities for Planning Area
Transaction Code: /SAPAPO/TR32

Please refer the standard one - 9ASNP

3. Planning Area
Planning areas are the central data structures for Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning.
The planning area specifies the following:

Unit of measure in which data is planned

Currency in which data is planned (optional)

Currency conversion type for viewing planning data in other currencies (optional)

Storage buckets profile that determines the buckets in which data is stored in this planning area

Aggregate levels on which data can be stored in addition to the lowest level of detail in order to
enhance performance

Key figures that are used in this planning area

Settings that determine how each key figure is disaggregated, aggregated, and saved

The assignment of key figures to aggregates

Configuration:
SAP menu - Advanced Planning and Optimization - Demand Planning Environment Administration
of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning
Transaction Code: /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN
Refer the standard one 9ASNP02

Procedure:
1. Click on Planning Areas
2. Select Planning area from the drop down list
Please refer the standard 9ASNP02 and Display.

Check all TABs

Right click the planning area and check the time series.

4. Time Bucket Profile

Maintain Time Bucket Profiles: Information that defines the historical or future time horizon
for Demand Planning or Supply Network Planning, specifically:

Which time buckets are used for planning

How many periods of each time bucket are used

The sequence in which the time buckets appear in the planning table

Configuration:

SAP menu - Advanced Planning and Optimization - Demand Planning Environment - Current
Settings - Maintain Time Buckets Profile for Demand Plng and Supply Network Plng
Transaction Code: /SAPAPO/TR30
Refer the standard one - 9ASNP

Procedure:
1. Enter the time buckets profile assigned to the Planning Area SNP94(1): 9ASNP
Please refer the standard Bucket as 9ASNP.

5. Planning Books
A planning book determines the content and layout of the interactive planning screen. You use planning
books in Supply Network Planning and Demand Planning. They allow you to design the screen to suit
individual users planning tasks. A planning book is based on a planning area. There is no restriction on
the number of planning books you can have for a planning area. Within a planning book, you can also
define one or more views. Views allow you, for instance, to tailor the information displayed for various
users (for example, to display different key figures for different users
Menu Path:

Settings - Define Planning Book
Transaction Code: /SAPAPO/SDP8B
Refer the standard one Planning Book - 9ASNP94 and Data Views - SNP94(1)& SNP94(2)
Procedure:
1. Enter 9ASNP94 in the Planning Book field and check the standard planning book and data views
