Dear Friends:

December was a very busy month for the Haubners!

We began the month helping Michael's mom and dad move to another house. As soon as we got

settled, we began preparing for end - of - the - year celebrations. We held dinners for all of the
preachers and their wives in our fourteen churches and camp ministry. We also had a fellowship
meal and gift exchange with all the couples in our discipleship ministry. This has grown into
quite a group with a promising future. The Lord has richly blessed this ministry.

Michael began practices for the annual Christmas play in early December. He directed and acted
in the play which was held on Christmas Eve. One week later on New Year's Eve, the church,
along with all of the daughter churches held a service to bring in the New Year united in prayer.
Seventeen people were baptized into Christ on this day.

Michael was also very involved with the youth group and the camp. He took the youth on a trip
to Brasilia and led a camp for youth and another retreat for adolescents. The mission also
purchased a water wheel for use in the dam at the camp. The wheel will serve to pump and
distribute water to all the boxes always keeping them full.
One very exciting development is the planned completion of the New Horizons Church building
in March for the twenty second anniversary of the Church.

In January we began packing for our retum trip to the United States. We arrived back on
January 12, leaving 100 degree weather for 20 degree snow stonns.

Michael has started his duties as Manager of Blue Ridge Christian Camp in McCoy, Virginia.
He is the first full-time camp manager in the history of the camp. Debbie will be staying at home
with 17 month old Andrea. Andrea has adapted well to her new home and is enjoying getting to
know new friends.

We would once again like to thank all of our faithful supporters. We treasure our memories of
time spent in Brazil and miss the Christian friends we made there. We will always remember
fondly of time in the US on furlough and all of the hospitable places we visited. We ask that you
pray for us in our new ministry and the change in our lives.
May God bless you all richly!! Thanks once again for everything!!
Sincerely:

Dear Friends and Faithful Supporters,

On March 8,

1996 the board

the mission.

This

concludes

22 years of active outreach, service, and evangelism in Brazil.

Our initial goal was to further the expansion of the Kingdom
of God in Brazil. This has been accomplished through the labors of

If you have asked why would this mission close? Our primary
reasons are a change
in the most effective
type of mission work
needed today and economics.
The
most effective evangelism
is
Brazilian people
teaching Brazilian people with
experienced
missionaries prepared to support
this evangelism spiritually and
with base
finances
with Brazilian people
moving
toward
self
support.
Economically this is expensive work with the current
rate of inflation and the loss of buying power of the U.S. dollar.
This economic change is good for the Brazilians but requires
more
money for missionaries who are trying to work in Brazil. We do not
have the
