Seraphim
Literally "burning ones", the word seraph is normally a synonym for serpents when used in the Hebrew
Bible. A seminal passage in the Book of Isaiah (6.1-8) used the term to describe fiery six-winged beings
that fly around God's throne singing "holy, holy, holy"

Cherubim
cherubs (sometimes cherubims in English translations[2]). In modern English the word cherub is
sometimes used for what are strictly putti baby or toddler angels in art. This article is concerned with
the original sense of the word.

Thrones
The Thrones (lat. thronus, pl. throni) are a class of celestial beings mentioned by Paul the
Apostle in Colossians 1:16 (New Testament) and related to theThrone of God. They are living symbols of
God's justice and authority. According to the New Testament, these high celestial beings are among those
Orders at the Christ's service.[1][2] The Thrones are mentioned again in Revelation

Dominions
Dominions are a group of angels in Christianity who are known for their leadership of other angels and
their mercy toward human beings. Dominion angels regulate the other angels and supervise how they
perform their God-given duties. Dominions also often act as channels of mercy for God's love to flow
from him to people.

Principalities
Principalities are a group of angels in Christianity who are known for their work overseeing the various
nations on Earth and delivering wisdom to national leaders as they face decisions about how best to
govern people. The principalities also encourage people to pray and practice spiritual disciplines that
will help them grow closer to God. They also work to educate people in the arts and sciences,
communicating inspiring ideas in response to people's prayers.

Powers
Power is the time rate at which work is done or energy is transferred. In calculus terms, power is the
derivative of work with respect to time.

Virtues
Virtues are a group of angels in Christianity who are known for their work encouraging human beings
to strengthen their faith in God, such as by inspiring people and helping them grow in holiness. They
often visit Earth to perform miracles that God has empowered them to perform in response to
people's prayers. Virtues also watch over the natural world God has created on Earth.

Michael and Gabriel are recognized as archangels in Judaism, Islam, and by most Christians. The Book
