The female looks rather angry, as if she is out to seek revenge on someone or
something. The idea that she takes up majority of the image suggest that she is
important within the plot line and that she is alone suggests she is an
independent woman. The serious facial expression suggests to the audiences
that this isnt a jokey film that she is out to kill or to attack another. The
paleness of her skin suggests she isnt human, a vampire which she is. In a way
this gives away part of the storyline as the audience previously dont know if she
really survives her transformation.

Costume / Make-Up

Colour

Image

She has quite dark makeup on yet still rather simplistic. This is a hegemonic idea
about vampires, that they always look pristine without a blemish or fault on
their face. Her hair again shows she takes care of herself or she is naturally
beautiful which is usually the trait that comes with being a vampire is usually.
She is in a leather jacket which is associated with rebels so this suggests the
idea that she isnt someone you would want to cross, as if she is an outcast from
society, rebelling against all.
There isnt much colour within this image which prevents the reveal of any
personality or plot line. The text is in a gold reflective font which could
represent the fact that the vampires sparkle in the sunlight. Also Gold is quite a
rich colour which again could suggest that the female is rich or at least not poor
enough she cant afford things. Other than the fact that the female is quite pale
which is brought out even more when put in black to show of her stereotypical
vampire features, the colours remain dark and unpredictable to the audience at
a glance of this poster.
As said the image shows her being rather an angry person. The red eyes suggest
a devil like personality as if she is possessed. She doesnt look very friendly and
by her facial expression she is out to get someone or something in an unpleasant
manner. The red eyes are stereotypical to the vampire status and so including
this gives us the impression that she is immortal or inhuman anymore. The idea
that she is all in dark colours and her face is pale suggests again more qualities
that she is a vampire and does in fact dominate the poster. We can only see half
of her face, suggesting she may have two different personalities or she is hiding
something and doesnt wish to reveal herself. Due to us only seeing half of her,
we get the idea that she isnt someone who likes to express or present
themselves. This can also represent the idea of vampires not coming out in the
day time as it has an effect on them. In this case.they sparkle (oh dear).

Language

Typography

Layout

There isnt really much language to discuss on the page as there are only 3
pieces of information on the poster. The register for this poster is limiting as the
image tells more about the storyline of the film than the actual words on the
page. However due to it coming across as a vampire film it is aimed at a teenage
up to about 30s audience. Its got the air of mystery with the one word tagline
which gives nothing really away about the film unless you have seen the
previous ones then then it does link the films together with them being vampires
living forever. The # gives it a rather informal register as it is encouraging social
networking sites to spread the word about the film. This also means more
publicity getting younger audiences to use social networking sites to promote
their film.
The tagline forever. doesnt really say much about the film. It does in a way
link to the previous films stating that now Bella will live forever which gives a
hint at the storyline of the new film. The idea that the tagline is only one line
gives the idea of mystery and unclearness about the storyline which is what a
typical teaser poster does. It is referring to the idea that vampires live forever
however it could also mean that people have been waiting forever for this film
sequel, teasing the audience even more. Ultimately it is referring to the idea of
a vampire living on forever, telling us that this female will live on giving her the
status of unstoppable
The layout is rather simplistic. The only thing present is the tagline forever, the
date of its release and a #breakingdawn in small font. This is all on top of a
large image of the protagonist female of the film. This follows the typical
conventions of a coming soon poster whereby there is limited information to
tease you into wanting to find out more about the film. The limited information
hypes the film up so that it gathers together larger audiences to increases the
films box office ratings.
