How would you personally benefit from the Alumni Scholarship and what difference would it
make in your life?
I necessarily expect to benefit from the Alumni Scholarship, for it would be the only chance to
cover my financial needs in a way that will allow me to concentrate on activities within the University. As
I already experienced, working part-time doesn't allow you to take big responsibilities on extracurricular
projects. The scholarship will give me the chance to take full advantage of studying at CEU; will broaden
my network and will motivate me even more to be an active student and to engage in volunteer activities.
2. Please briefly outline volunteer (service) projects where you were involved or have taken the role
of a leader. Explain the most important direct effect you caused as a volunteer. Please be as specific
as you can.
In pursuing volunteering experience, I found myself being receptive to the needs of the students,
such as networking and multilateral development. I was one of the students who grounded the Euro
Club at our academy, which turned to be the most active Euro Club in our country. Euro Club ASEM
enhanced an environment where I was able share my views about the European Union with other
students, thus promoting the EU image among undergraduates. Despite of weekly activities, I took
responsibility for a survey on Moldovas integration in the EU and its perception among Moldovans.
Presenting the results and the conclusion of the research was in my duty within the club. We tried to make
a call to the authorities referring the level of awareness among different groups of citizens. The report got
greater attention due to Soros Foundation, which helped us to publish it. During studies I was also the
vice president of the student council at the Faculty of Finance, trying to organize an efficient
communication between students and lecturers. While organizing and leading debates on current topics
for younger students, such as public speaking, leadership and time management, I faced the challenge to
work with and lead a team.
3. Please describe how you plan to apply your volunteer experience and/or leadership skills at CEU
and what kind of impact you would like to have on the university.
I am interested in being a part of a club or a community which will promote Christian values
among young professionals and entrepreneurs. To my mind this is a way to a resilient future, where the
social-responsibility and fair play is not imposed by the government, but is followed intentionally. I
envision it by creating great leaders in small things. I would like to start at Budapest, as I think an
international community and interaction with open-minded young people will challenge me to do my
best.
4. What do you plan to do in your professional life and/or civic engagement after you graduate from
CEU?
After benefiting from a study environment at CEU as a crossroads university, I plan on using my
degree to work at an economic Think-Tank in Moldova. My country lacks new approaches towards
economic transition, and I am determined to bring international knowledge, high standards and
outstanding solutions towards this matter.
5. Please describe how you plan to help develop the CEU alumni chapter in your home country (or
country of your temporary residence) after you graduate.

As Moldova has only 2 representatives within the alumni network, I would like to strengthen
their effort to make the national chapter an active one. First of all, I would like to organize events
promoting international experience among Moldovan students. To my mind the CEU alumni can be a
source of support and inspiration for Moldovan students. I would like to promote the opportunities of
such networking and interaction among experienced graduates from CEU and prospect students of CEU.
For alumni this will be a chance to meet, to chat and communicate while unifying their effort to inspire
and encourage youth. Such events will surely make the name of CEU known and will promote the
university in Eastern Europe.
