Junior Program

Over the years the Highland Country Club Junior Golf Program has
provided our Juniors the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of the game
of golf from trained PGA of Canada Golf Professionals. We pride ourselves
in the overall development of all of our Juniors and have had a number of
Juniors become Golf Professionals, attend U.S. and Canadian Universities
on golf scholarships, and become very successful in the business world.
Our program again this season consists of a variety of instructional
programs, special events and golf tournaments designed for all of our Junior
Members to learn and compete in a safe and fun environment.
To keep up to date with the Junior events we remind you to watch the Junior
bulletin board located outside of the backshop area. This is where all sign up
sheets and special notices for Juniors will be posted.
The attached is an outline of our program. Should you have any questions or
wish to register for any of the events please feel free to contact the
Professional Shop to discuss the program in greater detail.

GOLF COURSE DRESS CODE

It is very important that all members are aware of the dress code policy as it
applies to the golf course. In general appropriate dress is required our
Junior golfers must also always abide by the dress code as outlined below.
Members who bring guests to golf at Highland should communicate our
dress code policy to their guests to avoid any potential embarrassment.

Women
- Tailored golf style shirts with collar or sleeves or both may be worn
with slacks, golf shorts or skirts.
- Golf skirts, shorts and skorts are to be an appropriate tailored variety
with an outseam of not less than 17 or be no shorter than 4 above
the knee.
- Golf dresses must be no shorter than 4 above the knee.
- Quarter socks or sockettes must be worn with either skirts or shorts.
Men
- No T-shirts please. Only authentic mock shirts are allowed. All other
shirts must have collars.
- All shirts must be tucked in, no exceptions.
- Slacks should be tailored and shorts must be no shorter than 2 above
the knee.
- Knee socks, quarter socks or sockettes must be worn with shorts.
(Socks may not be rolled down).
Not Permitted - (Men and Women)
- Denim clothing of any colour.
- Sweat pants/Track pants
- Golf sandals, metal spikes
- Cargo pants/shorts
- Athletic socks
- Halter tops/ tank tops

Junior Opening Field Day & Luncheon

Date: Saturday May 9th, 2015
Lunch: 12:00 Noon
(parents welcome for lunch cost for parents
approx $10.00 + tax per person)
Golf: 2:00 PM Tee times

Format: The day will begin with a light lunch followed by a brief
presentation outlining this seasons Junior Golf Program. Starting at 2:00 pm
we will be joined by the Professional Shop Team and will play a 9 hole team
scramble.

Spring Clinics
Dates: Saturday May 17th, 24th, 31st, June 8th & 15th - 2:00 p.m. 3:00 p.m.
For: All Junior Members ages 8 - 18

Tiny Tots Program

Dates: Sunday May 24th, 31st June 7th & 14th 3:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m.
For: Juniors ages 4 - 7 (One Parent per Child)
Cost: $60.00 + HST
Instruction: Basic Instruction, Cart Rides, Prizes, Treats for the Kids

HIGHLAND JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY

NEW for 2015
The Professional Shop Team is looking to enhance the Instructional
component of our Junior Golf Program. This year we are going to offer a
program a minimum of 2 days per week to all of our Junior Golfers ages 8
18. This program will emphasize fun and participation with time being
spent on the practice area as well as on the golf course with our professional
staff. The program will run throughout the entire golf season with dates
being selected by consensus with our participants.
Recognizing that our Juniors are at various levels of skill and
competitiveness we will be looking to group our participants based on their
current level of development as well as their level of play they wish to attain.
They will be encouraged to participate in all of the current Junior events that
Highland Country Club currently offers and will be tasked each week with a
variety of assignments to promote their development.
We are very excited about this new program and welcome all those
interested to join us for an information session in the clubhouse on Tuesday
April 7th @ 7:00 pm or to call the Pro Shop to register and gather more
information. Cost of the program will be $50 + HST per person

Summer Junior School

Dates: June 29th, 30th, July 2nd, 3rd, (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
Times: 9:00 am 3:00 pm
Note: Supervision from 8 9 am and 3 5 pm is available.
For: Junior Members and Guests (Ages 8 13)
Cost:
Full Day: $180.00 + HST (includes lunch & snacks daily plus special camp
gift)
Half Day: $110.00 + HST (9:00 am 12 Noon; includes special camp gift lunch not included)
Juniors will be involved in golf instruction, etiquette and rules of golf
awareness, plus other fun camp activities.

Highland Junior Invitational (Tyson Tour Event)

Date: Monday July 20th
For: Any Juniors (Ages 12-18)

Format: 18 Hole Stroke play event with 4 divisions (Bantams 12-13,
Juveniles 14-16, Juniors 17-18, Girls)

Players must sign up in advance outside Pro Shop. Please sign up or
call pro shop by 5:00 pm the day prior. Draw will be made for next
morning at that time.
Cost: Complimentary
Format: FedEx Cup Format, Points each week. 4 different divisions based on
age. Accumulated total throughout the year. Top 3 in each division win
prizes at the end of the year.
