SKYPAD 705
Mini-USB to USB cable
SKYPAD 705 Firmware Tool & Image
Laptop or Computer running Windows XP, Vista, or 7
a. Unzip/Unpack the SKYPAD 705 firmware zip file into a location that you will be able to
browse and find.
b. Then open the SKYPAD 705 firmware folder (you will see two objects, LiveSuitPack
and SKYPAD 705 firmware image file).
c. Next, unpack the LiveSuitPack, and then select the language for the tool.
d. The LiveSuitPack will now prompt you to install the driver for the 705s board in
bootstrap. *Note: This will be a RED window from Windows, please click Install anyways
so that Windows may install the driver for you automatically. (If this process was
skipped and did not appear, please skip to the bottom of this instruction page to install
the drivers manually).
e. Double-click the LiveSuit to run the application and follow through with the wizard.
i. It will ask you whether or not to enter the upgrade guide -> click Yes
ii. Select the Mandatory upgrade mode.
iii. Click Next
iv. Then click on Yes to select the Image file. Browse for the SKYPAD Alpha
firmware image and click Open.
v. Then Select Finish.
vi. The tooling will now begin automatically, but if it hasnt began to process, just
unplug the mini-USB port from the SKYPAD 705, and plug it in again.
vii. Once the tooling has begun, please wait until the process states that it has been
completed to unplug the 705 from your laptop/computer.
On your laptop/computer, click on the start menu and mouse over the Computer
button. Right-click Computer and select the option Manage
On the left navigation bar for your Computer Management window, select the
Device Manager tab.
There will be an unknown device under the Other devices -> right-click the
unknown device and click on the option Update Driver Software
Then select Browse my computer for driver software -> Let me pick from a list
of device drivers on my computer -> Show All Devices and click Next -> click on
the Have Disk button and browse for the Drivers located in the unpacked LiveSuit
package.
There will be a folder called UsbDriver -> then select the driver from the list and
install.
