Brand Conceptualization

The Final Brand Name

From the top two brands, Remedy Unit
was chosen as the final brand name
and developed further into the digital
stage. Since the design of the product
would be based on the hexagon, the
shape was integrated into the logo as a
significant element.
Both the abbreviated version Rmd.
and the full name were experimented
with. I found that the abbreviated version worked better in general.
The font applied is Futura, a strong and
clean typeface that fits with the geometry of the hexagon.

The Top Three

Out of the three, the bottom-most two
were considered for the final logo.
When integrated into the actual package design, the middle one was stronger
whereas the other became rather lost in
amidst of the other information. Hence
why the middle one was deemed as the
best and chosen as the final logo.

Refined Graphics
At some point, the designs strayed
away from Nexcares diamond shaped
designs and into something more akin to
a true hexagon.
The tabs protruding from the ends of
the hexagons were implemented with
the idea of the user having to wrap it
around their limbs in consideration.
Simple instructional icons were created,
for extra clarity on how the product is to
be used.

Colours
The corporate colours consists of grey
and ivory, rather neutral colours due to
the differentiation system. However I
avoided choosing a stark combination
like black on white and went with a
warmer overtone to express congeniality.

The SKUs are differentiated by its

accent colours, which vary according
to the product. They were chosen and
adjusted to compliment the corporate
colours and not be distracting.

Images
While the idea of the package being
hexagonal shaped was experimented
on, it was scrapped due to several
issues: Because of the narrow opening, it was hard to get the bandages
out. It was also deemed too repetitive
and plus, Nexcare had already done a
simliar idea.
The normal medium sized package
instead, has a perfectly square PDP
to keep the information organized in a
geometric format. The larger size has a
more rectangular PDP to avoid having
the package too large (the graphic on it
is up to the scale of the actual product
inside).
The smallest size, or the kids line of
pacakges would be the same size to the
medium size, or slightly smaller.
