2015-MPN Student INSPIRE Scholarship

Moms of Performers Network, Inc. has developed a student scholarship program to support student artistic
development and training. The MPN Student INSPIRE Scholarship is designed for students that are aspiring to
greater arts development in their specified arts discipline. Our definition of arts for scholarship purposes is used to
include the following artistic areas: acting, dance, instrumental, musical theater, voice and the visual arts of painting
and photography.
Scholarships can vary in amount each year for the selected summer term. The scholarship award amount will be
dependent upon the donations received by our organization, designated for this purpose with approval by the MPN
Board of Directors. The amount awarded to each student will vary in amount with a maximum award of $500.00 per
student.
Applicants for the MPN Student INSPIRE Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

Be a student between the ages of 14 and 22 (inclusive) by December 31st of the application year.
Must have a permanent residence in the Kansas City area (defined as within a 50 mile radius) when applying.
Scholarships must be used for tuition expenses only for specific arts training per students application goals.
Training facility must be an approved arts organization by the MPN Board of Directors for the student.
Payment will be issued directly to the training facility or arts organization for the scholarship recipient.
If it is determined that any portion of the scholarship award has been used for purposes other than those for
which the distributions were intended, the scholarship recipient will be required to repay the full amount of the
scholarship award back to Moms of Performers Network, Inc. upon request immediately.
Scholarship recipients must use the scholarship award by August 31st of the same year in which they apply.
All completed materials must be postmarked by the corresponding due dates for consideration for the current
summer term for which the student is applying for.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered or returned; we are not responsible for items received in
the mail that are damaged; we are not responsible for returning any audition materials.
All scholarship applicants must advance through the initial scholarship screening process to be considered for an
award; must have availability for a final interview if requested by the MPN Board of Directors.
All decisions for scholarships are final per the decisions of the MPN Board of Directors.
All selected scholarship recipients will be required to do the following to release their scholarship award:
verification of program enrollment, statement of tuition costs with balance due at time of request, name and
address of the training facility or arts organization, and their student ID # for the selected program.
The selected MPN Student INSPIRE Scholarship recipient must be available to attend the award ceremony in
conjunction with the MPN Moms & Friends INSPIRE Event on Saturday, May 9th from 10:30-12:30 p.m.; they
will be introduced at this event and as part of the performance base of the annual MPN NYE Family Arts Gala
Performance on December 31st of that same year.
All selected scholarship recipients must provide a digital photo to be listed on the MPN website as a current
scholarship recipient for their selected summer term.
All selected scholarship recipients will be required to send a follow-up report on their tuition training received
with their MPN Student INSPIRE Scholarship within 30 days of completion of their artistic training.
All scholarship applicants will be notified after April 15th by phone or mail with scholarship awards and
information.
No applications will be accepted after the due date and must be postmarked by March 31st for consideration.

The following items must be included in your submission along with this completed and signed application
form; incomplete applications will not be accepted and your application fee will not be returned:
Typed Essay (500 min-1,000 words max) describing how the training you are requesting a scholarship for
will help you achieve your artistic goals; define your future goals; describe 1 person that has served as an
inspiration in your chosen artistic field (family, instructor, performer, etc.)
5 x 7 Printed Headshot/Digital Headshot (professional photo requested but not mandatory); digital
headshot must be emailed and is required for website if selected for scholarship award; mail 5 x 7 photo.
Performance Resume (acting, dance, instrumental, musical theater, voice) or Visual Arts Resume (painting
or photography) with 5 x 7 color photos of artwork.
Performance DVD (acting, dance, instrumental, musical theater, voice) with applicants name stated at the
beginning with 2 contrasting styles in their chosen arts area. (Note-No videotapes/must use protective sleeve
or case with DVD/Continuous running without operator intervention; 15 min DVD limit)
2 Recommendations(One from a current teacher in your artistic area; other from a non-arts & non-relative)
$10.00-Nonrefundable Application Fee made payable to Moms of Performers Network, Inc.
NOTE: Please note attendance dates for May & December Events for all scholarship recipients; all
recipients will be listed on our website as a current scholarship recipient with digital photo.
