Step inside Museum of London for an unforgettable
journey through the capital’s amazing past.
Find out why people from all over the world came to settle
in London. Travel back half a million years ago to a time
when lions and hippos roamed Trafalgar Square!
Meet characters from London’s past, see treasures from
a Roman temple, witness the fear of the Black Death and
find out the real stories behind the Great Fire of London.
See as much or as little as you like – the Museum is free and
here for your family all year round so come back any time.
In May 2010 our spectacular new Galleries of Modern London
will open. Our biggest development since the Museum opened
in 1976, the £20 million project will tell the story of London
and its people from 1666 to the present day and show how the
vibrant and unflagging energy of Londoners has shaped this
global city over the past 350 years.
