Arieza:

Over the few years, it is very rare to see people driving big cars on the road.

Ai Ling:
kkkkkkkkkkkkk

Usually these four-wheel drives are driven on rough terrains or slippery-muddy paths
such as the jungle.

Jing Yi:

City dwellers, like us do not need cars like these t transport us to work or school.

Arieza:
eeeeeeeeweeeeeee

These days, there are many public transports available for us such as LRT, Monorel,
rapidKL and taxis.

Ai Ling:
oooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooo

Moreover, most people usually live in flats, high-rise apartments and condominiums.
I doubt there would be enough space for big cars to park or even any protection from
these car park hooligans.

Jing Yi:
ooooooooooo

These hooligans would sit and smoke on our car hoods or do graffiti and vandalise
our cars.

Arieza:

Big cars such as SUVs are very expensive and are quite harmful to our environment.

Ai Ling:
vvvvvvvvvv

Although most big-size vehicles that run on diesel do not emit more carbon dioxide
than gasoline vehicles, it still brings forth problems to our environment.

Jing Yi:
mmmmmmm

Such as air pollution, global warming and the rise of the sea-level which will cause
flash floods.

Arieza:
kkkkkkkkkkk

During the festive seasons, some families would take trains or transit buses to return
to their hometowns so that they could spend less on traveling and fuel.

Ai Ling:

Speaking about fuel, recently our country had raised the oil prices.

Jing Yi:
ooooooooooo

I remember when the oil prices had gone up so did the voices of our people. Some
even held riots and demonstrations to voice their disapprovals and complaints.

Arieza:
nnnnnnnnnnn

This is because when oil price increase, so does our goods, electronics, furniture,
food stuffs and anything that requires more than four wheels to be transported.

Ai Ling:
mmmmmmmmm
mmmmm

It will also mean that people will need to start budgeting and be strict on their
consumptions. Moreover they are going to spend a larger portion of their income on
energy expenditure, a.k.a petrol.

Jing Yi:
kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
kkk

Lets say that people spend twice of what they usually spend on petrol, they would
need to cut down on their external spending, such as going for holiday trips abroad
and entertainment.

Arieza:
oooooooooooo

In conclusion, we live in a country where our economy is petroleum-driven.

Whatever we buy or use are usually petroleum related.

Ai Ling:
oooooooooo

This is why we should study hard and enter higher institutions of learning such as
universities and colleges and eventually find good jobs with high pay.

Jing Yi:
ooooooooooo

Did u know that research says more female students enter higher institutions of
learning compared to male students?

Arieza:
ooooooooooo

It used to be men who overrepresented in higher education, but that trend have been
changing for several years now.

Ai Ling:
oooooooooo

According to an OECD report, in 2005, women represented 55% of the higher

education population, 1.2 women to every man.

Jing Yi:
oooooooooooooooo
ooooo

One of the factors for this growing trend where women are outpacing men in higher
education participation is that there is a decrease in discrimination against girls who
are receiving education.

Arieza:
oooooooooooo

Girls also have a stronger verbal ability, where they adapt in schools faster than boys
do, which contributes to their higher preparation for higher education.

Ai Ling:
oooooooooo

Moreover, for careers in which women tend to dominate, for example nursing and
social work, has in recent years been incorporated into higher education too.

Jing Yi:

The fact that, males are more likely to take up vocational qualifications, for example
in plumbing and construction for careers that pay well, makes them less likely to
apply to universities.
