ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First and foremost, I would like to thank our Lord God, The Father
Almighty. Who has been my inspiration, the One who gave me enough
strength and wisdom, courage, confidence, and specially the knowledge that
helped me a lot to complete this practicum. It is true that He makes all things
possible.
Secondly, I would like to show my gratitude to my family. For
supporting me not just in financial aspect, but of course in giving their full
moral support. Even though I know and feel that sometimes, my
parent/guardian is tired on working to earn money, they still keep on doing it
to provide my financial needs. And of course, for being the source of my
strength.

ON THE JOB TRAINING DAILY DIARY

March 02, 2015
This is the first day of my On the Job training at SWAGMAN HOTEL. I feel nervous
because I know I'm alone on the establishment. I don't have the one to talk so I
need to be confident in order to do my work effectively and efficiently. I started my
duty at 11 in the evening. The supervisor of the hotel was oriented me about the
Hotel and she tour me in different department of the Hotel such as Front desk,
Laundry, Restaurant et cetera. She also introduced me to the other OJT's so that I
have to ask when something that I need to know. My nervousness was lessen
because other OJT's was approachable and friendly. My duty was finished at 9am in
the morning. Although, It was new to my schedule, still I need to do it In order for
me to finished my course.
March 03, 2015
Unlike yesterday, my pressure is not that much because my co-OJT's was guiding
me in different matters of the Hotel. My today's duty is in the Front Desk wherein I
receive guest calls every time. But I need to do it. In this way, I need to used what
I've learned on my course particularly on handling guest calls. I also encountered
different guest complaints on this day. It was sad but, I need to accept it.

Just like yesterday, I also receive calls from the guests. Sometimes Good and
sometimes bad. They also let me to handle the computer to the front desk to
encode the number of guest check-in and check-outs. It was hard but I'm doing my
very best to do it. I know it wasn't that easy but from time to time doing it. Later on
It would be easy for me.

This is my fourth day as front desk, this day; a foreigner came in to the front desk to
ask some questions about the hotels prices. I was shocked because I'm not that
used to talk with foreigner in different language that I used. But then, I need to do
it.

As usual, what I did yesterday is like today. I received different guest complaints talk
to different guest. What is different toady is to guide the guest to their room. While
walking, They ask some different questions about the hotel. I answered it positively
so that they wouldn't doubt about what the hotels services have.

Today wasn't that may work. But I also asked the supervisor on what to do. And then
she asked me to handle the computer to count the guest. And then I cleaned the
front desk and wipe the floor so that I would have something to do. After that, I take
may rest and wait guest to come.

This is last day on my first week of being OJT. Although I count many days in the
establishment but I still need to master all needed information to entertain every
guest questions and complaints. It is good to be ready.

This is my first day on second week of my OJT All I know is they assign me in other
department but mam marissa our supervisor used to assign me again in the Front
Desk in this day. It is okay because I dont have something to do. I need to follow
what they've said wholeheartedly. This day many guest came in that is why I'm very
tired. I now understand being an employee. It's not that easy but you need to follow
all the instructions they said.

Finally, This is my first day in different Department. Man marissa assigned me in the
Restaurant (RESTO) wherein new environment to enter.
New
staff,
friends,
surroundings. This day is also new adjustments. Because I used to know first their
traits and attitudes. I know I will learn something in this department. Although it
was not my expertise, I will just go with the flow. Follow what they asked me to do.

Like yesterday, I did the same thing. Other OJT's are friendly that is why I easily got
to know each other and make things easier while on duty.
March 12, 2015
As usual like yesterday, I did the same thing. Little by little I learn the workloads in
the Resto.
Its easy to do also the task because I have a friend to help me in different matters in
resto. Thats it for today.

This day I learn how to bill the orders of different guest and input it to the computer.
I always wipe the desk when I dont have to do. And sweep the floor. I also
encountered different guest complaints in this department. I thought it was only in
the front desk. Thats it for today.

Just like yesterday. We did the same thing. Greet the guests every moment. Clean
the particular area that designated to us. While waiting for the guests we used to
clean and clean the resto area. So that the supervisor see us working.

This day has a lot of guest because there is an event. All of us had our designated
duty for making the event successful. I am the one who assist the guest on the
event area.

March 16, 2015

It is Monday, and another day to start my duty in this hotel, it is my 15 th day on
duty, I have been assigned again in front desk for this whole week.

This day I encountered many guests especially foreigners who are having their
vacation here in the Philippines. I entertained them and explained on what hotels
have.

Its Wednesday, and few guests came in the hotel. But still I give all my best to
make them satisfied on the service of the hotel.
March 19, 2015
I received calls and a lot of them are asking what the prices of different rooms. By
these transactions, I used what Ive learned on our Front office subject especially on
handling guest calls. That is also the reason why I need to master all of the process
and rules of the hotel.

No pressure this day, Day by day I learned a lot of things, this day I learned a lesson
that being an employee you have to be more patient and be careful on doing your
responsibilities, and always smile on whatever problems you encountered while on
duty.

Just like yesterday, I did the same thing. Handle some guest calls. Greets every
guest that are coming. We are very tired this day because there is a lot of work to
do. But I need to do it wholeheartedly and happy.

Its Sunday, Last day of my duty in Front Desk. But this day was memorable to me
because there is one guest who keeps on complaining about his room. He said that
his room is messy, I handled the situation patiently and I told him that we can send
him to the other room.

Its Monday, Another tiring week, mam marissa designated me in Housekeeping
department. Wherein we clean every check-out of guest in their different rooms.
Although it was hard for me at first, I know I will learn in this department. Thats it
for today.

Second day in Housekeeping department first time to deliver guests order. At first it
was hard because it is my first time to do this. Until I already delivered it. And
luckily they give me 20Php as tip.
