The History

Who discovered America?

It is known that the first people that found America were the normans,
but, officially America was dicovered by Christopher Columb who
believed that he arrived in Asia, later the german cartographer Martin
Waldseemller named the new region of the world America in honor of
Amerigo Vespucci .
Did America have its own population?
Yes, the ancestors of today's American Indigenous peoples were
the Paleo-Indians; they were hunter-gatherers who migrated into North
America.
And what happened after it had been discovered?
After a period of exploration , the first successful English settlement
was established in 1607 when europeans brought horses, cattle, and
hogs to the Americas and, in turn, took back to Europe maize, turkeys,
potatoes, tobacco, beans, and squash. After that ,many explorers died
after being exposed to new diseases in the Americas. After that the
colonization begun. The Spaniards created the first European colonies
in those territoriesThe strip of land along the eastern seacoast was
settled primarily by English colonists in the 17th century. In total there
were founded 13 colonies which were characterized by religious
diversity. Typically, a colony was ruled by a governor appointed from
London.
What about slavery?
The origins of slavery in the colonial United States are complex and
there are several theories that have been proposed to explain the
trade. It was largely tied to European colonies' need for labor. Most
slaves who were brought to the Thirteen British colonies were
imported from the Caribbean, not directly from Africa.
But, America is not controlled by Britain.
The Thirteen Colonies began a rebellion against British rule in 1775
and proclaimed their independence in 1776 as the United States of
America. The United States was the first major colony successfully to
revolt against colonial rule. As a result, on July 4, 1776, the Second
Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, declared the
independence of "the United States of America" in the Declaration of
Independence. And that why July 4 now is celebrated as the nation's
birthday. The new nation was founded on Enlightenment ideals of
liberalism in what Thomas Jefferson called the unalienable rights to
"life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".
And the slaves and indians?
During the first two decades after the Revolutionary War, there were

dramatic changes in the status of slavery among the states and an

increase in the number of freed blacks.
And about the indians, after that Congress passed the Indian Removal
Act, the president negotiated treaties that exchanged Native American
tribal lands in the eastern states for lands west of the Mississippi River.
What about the Civil War?
The causes of the Civil War, include much more than slavery, but the
sustenance or abolition of slavery was the result everyone watched for.
At no other time in American history, the nation was more
concentrated over any issue. In hindsight, fighting over it was the only
resolution. And in the end, with the unconditional surrender of the
South, the Union was able to welcome back all seceded states, per
Lincolns wishes, and permanently outlaw slavery of any kind with the
Emancipation Proclamation.
And the The first World War?
As World War I started in Europe in 1914 America declared neutrality
but warnned Germany that the reopening of unrestricted submarine
battles against American ships supplying like this goods to Allied
nations, would mean war. Germany decided to take the risk and try to
win by cutting off supplies to Britain; the U.S. declared war in April
1917. American money, food, and munitions arrived quickly and by
summer 1918 American soldiers arrived. The result was Allied victory
in November .
What about the second?
After the Japanese attack on the American fleet at Pearl Harbor naval
base on December 7 , 1941, the US entered the war , taking the lead of
The Allied. After this Britain and the US started bombing German cities
and industry. and managed in July, to land in Sicily, arriving in Italy by
September and removing like this, Mussolini and the Italian Fascism.
Another important day 6 June 1944 (also called D-day) when a second
front was opened and the Allied invaded Normandy. Because of the DDay, the Allied troops were able to chase the Germans out of France.
By 1945, the Allied crossed the Rhine after they stopped the German
counteroffensive.
The great bombs
Although the Nazis were defeated, the Japanese Empire still
represented a serious threat to US forces. So, in oredr to win the
battle, american scientists realized the most dangerous weapon in
history: the atomic bomb. The Allied gave Japan an ultimatum but
there was no intention glimpsed from the Japanese surrender. So
America launched the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on the Japanese city of
Hiroshima and three days later, the "Fat Man" bomb on Nagasaki. A s a
result, on August 14 the Japanese finally surrendered .
The least of the wars: The Cold War
The Cold War was a tension after the World War II caused by the
Communist world's desire to force communism upon the rest of the

earth and, as the Soviet Union had fallen apart, it is said that the the
western capitalists won the war.
The Women's movemet
A new consciousness of the inequality of American women began
sweeping the nation, starting with the the publication of a bestseller,
which assaulted American culture for its creation of the notion that
women could only find fulfillment through their roles as wives,
mothers, and keepers of the home, and argued that women were just
as able as men to do every type of job. As a consequence, Supreme
Court restablished women's equal status under the law, and social
custom and consciousness began to change, accepting women's
equality.
