SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Business Expansion As Director of the Power Division, was responsible for all sales & project management on
coal fired feeding projects after acquisition by an American Company; from a standing start
expanded the business from £500,000 in the first year to £12,500,000 after 3years. Clients
include Euro Power Utilities: E.On, RWE, EDF, Scottish Power, Iberdrola etc & Major Boiler
Companies: Alstom, SES, Doosan Babcock etc

Business Development From its conception, investigated and then developed business in UK for a Belgian based Air
Pollution Control Technology Company. Secured 1st contract within 5 months on an island-
based Waste Disposal Facility (value £ 2m).

Leadership & Management As Managing Director, controlled a privately owned Environmental Engineering Company,
leading team of specialist engineers, upgrading waste incineration facilities and expediting
specialist environmental commissions. Made a useful impact on reduction of environmental
emissions in waste disposal industry.

Project Management As leader of the Engineering & Projects Division for UK arm of a major US Corporation,
managed a team of around 35 engineers & support staff. Developed standard design/project
packages & project management systems on Gasoline Vapour Recovery Plant & Incineration
Systems. With disciplined procurement, based on a standardised approach, company achieved
profitability within 1st full year on a turn-over of around £ 20m.

Investigation/Troubleshooting Successfully expedited a commission from leading UK Cement Company/Waste Contractor to


remove Environment Agency Prohibition Notice from Clinical Waste Incineration Facility.
Identified and rectified a number of faults and then improved overall plant operation.

Negotiation Brought to closure in Vienna a £ 2 million contract for gasoline vapour recovery system with
leading Petroleum producer. Negotiated favourable counter-clauses to client’s conditions on
terms of payment and bonding.

Problem Solving On joining a process company, was given a number of problematic incineration sites to
investigate. After initial surveys and technical/supplier research, diagnosed problems,
proposed solutions, set remedial programme and obtained clean bill of health on all sites
during 1st year of office; made positive impact on company profitability..

Communication Made technical, corporate and commercial presentations at corporate and plant level to 2
leading Power Utilities in Spain.
Resulted in our placement on their bid lists for future planned environmental improvement and service programmes.

Site Management Surveyed and then oversaw and supervised the upgrade of Overhead Power Gantries for a
major Railtrack/Main Contractor Alliance on various Station Locations on the West Coast
Main Line, using a new concept of 2-pack, single coat all weather paints. Also made
recommendations via detailed reports to Carillion/Railtrack on structural defect improvements
on overhead gantries, footbridges and signal gantries.
Has also managed many sites for site set-up, construction, plant assembly and commissioning
in the waste, environmental, chemical, petrochem, pharmaceutical, cement and industrial
sectors.

Process Control Evolved design for major pharmaceutical company on 2 sites (Montrose & Singapore) for
DCS (including ESD & UPS) to replace existing control system for the addition of a 3rd
gaseous waste incinerator on an un-interruptible process. Commissioned both sites
successfully and from addition of fail-safe facility, client was able to increase production.

Quality Assurance Authored QA and Operations Manuals for environmental engineering companies, to assist
operation by and promote efficiency in engineering teams.

Working with Directors in Cheadle Hulme & Glasgow offices to help their push & expansion into the coal-fired
Power Market in the UK. Setting up & attending meetings with CEO’s & Station Managers at all UK Power
Utility companies. Presentations on Jacobs service capabilities for owner’s engineer & EPCM management.
Boiler Business Development Manager – Instant Upright (Dublin) 2009-Present
Initial Rolling Contract to launch boiler access solutions in coal-fired Power Industry; reporting to Business
Development Director and responsible for UK, EC Europe, Rest of Europe, Middle East, Russia, will develop to whole world
market; managing territory managers & agents in individual countries.

Brought in by new American owners to run a new division to re-launch Stock Coal Power Products into the
European, African & “Russias” markets; responsible for all sales and project management. Grew Sales to
£12,500,000, in 3 years.
Negotiated a £6,500,000 contract with Iberdrola/Scottish Power.
Involved with all major Power Utilities & Boiler Makers.
Now part of the Schenck Process Group in Germany has successfully integrated the Stock products into the new
International Power Business Segment in the numerous Schenck offices in our territories.

Notable assignments include: hands on project management, with a team of consultants in Rotterdam, of the
basic engineering packages for additional loading facilities and an environmental upgrade project (vapour
recovery and combustion) for a port authority in Saudi Arabia ; Quality/Site Management Contract with
Carillion Rail for Railtrack involving surveying and ultimate remedial work on Overhead Power Gantries on the
West Coast Main Line and investigating new concept all-weather coatings; Business Development exercise for
Babcock & Wilcox to gain pre-qualification with ESB Dublin to build a $100million Dry FGD plant at
Moneypoint Power Plant in Eire and with London Electricity (EDF,France) to bid a $66million
FGD contract at Cottam Power Plant; again with B&W, liaison with Power Technologies to bid boiler
upgrade work at Radcliffe Power Plant.
