Scope
This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies marine level gauge provided with valves of
maximum working pressure 0.49 MPa (hereinafter referred to as level gauge) to be used for water tank and
marine tanks for oil to which the requirements of SOLAS do not apply and low pressure vessels.
2.

1. The assembly drawing and dimensions for H and H1 are shown as examples, and the purchaser may specify
number of joints; number, length and materials of tubular glasses; and whether the protector or support are
needed or not (refer to Reference Figs. 2 and 3).
2. The dimension H for the joint of one or more is shown in the case where the tubular glasses of same length
are combined, but if necessary, different length may be properly combined.
3. The maximum length of one tubular glass is preferably 600 mm for the inorganic or tempered glass to
prevent fracture, and 2000 mm for the glass taking its thermal expansion into account. In these cases,
however, it is desirable to fit the glass supports at the maximum intervals of 600 mm (p).
4. When the length of tubular glass is equal, the dimensions for H and H1 are as follows:
For type A and B: H = h(number of tubular glasses)
H = (length of tubular glass)+25
For type C:
H1=h(number of joints)+ h1
h1 = (length of tubular glass)+40
5. The calculated mass is the weight of upper body, lower valve and joint, and the weight of tubular glass and
protector is not inclusive.
