WHEELS Elementary has recess in a fenced concrete yard which will be transformed by this proposal to a playground with safe surface, structure, and hoops. Support our children and neighborhood school. IS 152/ PS 178 Playground Collaboration $600,000 The current playground has a damaged surface as well as an old structure that is damaged, and no longer meets the needs of the students. The upgrade to the playground will enhance the safety, and engage students to be more active by installing the new structure. Amistad/Muscota Plumbing Upgrade $100,000 The bathrooms at this school are overdue for an upgrade, the toilets do not flush correctly, and kids have trouble reaching the sinks. This is a co-located school, and the upgrade would prove beneficial to all the students. Dos Puentes/PS 132 Playground Installation $400,000 This is a co-located school that currently lacks a playground, which does not provide students with a safe area to have recess. This installation would include a play structure, resurfacing, and re-fencing providing for two separate, safe areas for kids to play. JHS 143 Music Recording Studio $300,000 JHS 143 High School Recording Studio would musically enrich the general and special education students, providing them with the necessary steps to establish a foundation for an influential musical career. Auditorium Upgrade PS 218/MS 322/MS 293 $100,000 The current auditorium is shared by these schools, and must rely on technology dating back to 1993, which is now very outdated. The upgrade will enhance all events held there, both within the school and community, and encourage further utilization of the space.
Facade Repairs at Fort Washington Library $600,000
These repairs would include restoring the parapet well, do repainting throughout, and waterproofing the facade. Fort Washington Library Facade Repairs are essential to the preservation of a building built in April 1914, funds generously allocated by Andrew Carnegie. Outdoor Circuit Training $100,000 This will be an outdoor, high-quality, consolidated exercise area that will be free to the public. This will promote community health and wellness, encouraging the community and their families to be more involved. Audubon Playground Upgrade $155,000 This project will be to resurface the basketball court, adding the missing peewee hoops and backboards, and to replace the fencing around the park. This will enhance the safety of the playground, and make it a more comfortable environment. Emerson Playground Chessboards $250,000 This project intends to provide for an adult chess community near the Emerson Playground. Currently, all boards are located inside the playgrounds, barring adults without children from playing. Highbridge Community Garden $200,000 This area already has GreenThumb approval, a subsection of Parks, allowing for a food garden in this area of the park. This will help to provide for more local participation and education for the community on how food is grown, and in turn, will promote wellness. Highbridge Anti-Dumping Measures $100,000 This project will allow for the installation of fencing in two different areas along the edge of the park where trash dumping is a large problem. The project will prevent litter, control erosion, and help to keep the area clean and safe.
