Hi Sea Dragoners
Welcome to the first edition of the Green Weekly for the 2015 season. A special welcome to
new parents to the club. This newsletter comes out each week during the season and will be
your source of where your next match is, past round results, info about the club and anything
soccer related.
Next Training Session: Due to the rain last Friday, our next training session is Friday APRIL 17th at
the different time 3pm to 4pm.
Junior Registrations (U6 to U12): Registrations close April 10th. Please complete the online
registration ASAP as I have to create teams and nominate these into divisions on April 11th. If
people leave registrations to the last minute or worse after the deadline, we may not
nominate a team as we may have thought numbers were not sufficient to do so. Please refer
to the email regarding registration or contact me if you have any issues. Dave Sayers

Post registration closing the teams are sorted, nominated to the Central Region Junior Soccer
Association and then rosters are sorted. Once rosters are out I will fill the area at the back of
this newsletter so you know where the next few weeks games. (The initial rounds are for
grading and post this the whole season roster is tabulated.
We only accept late registrations where teams are still in need of players.
At the time of writing, we have the following numbers registered.
U6 4 players registered - maximum squad is 4 a side with up to 3 subs (7 players) This team
still needs a coach
U7 - 4 players registered - maximum squadis 4 a side with up to 3 subs (7 players)
U8 6 players registered 7 a side with ideally 3 subs max (10 players we can do 11)
U9 7 players registered 7 a side with ideally 3 subs max (as above)
U10 - 10 players registered 9 a side with ideally 3 or 4 subs max (12/13 players)
U11 - 8 players registered 9 a side with ideally 3 or 4 subs max (12/13 players)
U12 - 1 players registered 9 a side with ideally 3 or 4 subs max (12/13 players)
We are able to mix ages up or down 1 year (max of 3 players in one team playing down an
age group)
Youth Registrations (U13 up): This year we are set to field two youth teams. An U13 girls and
U16 team. Please refer to email from George Wilson regarding registrations if you have not
done so already.
U16 Youth team: Our U16 youth team starts their season on April 11th with a home game
against Taroona. Match kick is 12:30pm and we are playing our first game in Cygnet at the
Cygnet AFL ground. The adult Cygnet Town FC is set to back up our game also with a match
against Taroona at 2:30pm. Get down and support the teams

The U16 travel to Blackmans Bay for a trial match against Southern FC Saturday 4th April
10:00am kick off
Working with children checks: many thanks to those that have submitted their application for
this check. As of April 1st, we are unable to have a team coached by someone without this
check. Ideally there should be at least 2 parents with this check per team to help cover
during the season. Please consider lodging an application just so your team has two people
with the check. The club will reimburse the application fee ($17 approx)
AGM and committee: During May we will be holding our AGM (I will advise date soon). We
are looking for people who can help in any way to put their hand up to join the committee.
Any queries about this please see me. Myself and George Wilson (Treasurer) are committed
to see out one more season but as of next year the club will be needing a fresh set of faces
to continue steering the club into the future.
Last year we held the AGM in January prior to the season commencement. The result was an
uninspiring turnout hence we are moving it to early season start. Many thanks to those that
have put their hand up to help out so far. Kevin Harley will be handling linemarking during the
season, Solvejg Wilson and Kirsty Morgan will be sharing the canteen coordinator roles (you
are stars) and Amber Leighton has put her hand up to handle uniform orders.
Uniforms: When you register online, you will be able to add your order for uniforms. If you have
not done this, please email Amber Leighton on amber@yourhomerealty.com.au. All orders must
be received by April 13th as we will be lodging our order to receive uniforms prior to first round
of matches
As a reminder, uniforms Prices are as follows:

*Go by your childs shoe size and if they are sizes 2 or 7 err on the higher size. Unlike shirts and shorts
once your child has put them on their feet we cant resell at full price will cost you $5 to exchange

First Round of Matches:

U16 Begins April 11th v Taroona at Cygnet 12:30pm
U13 Girls Season has been delayed to May 3rd to allow all clubs time to get their suads
together
U6 to U12 Juniors Begin May 2nd

Message for All Parents (and Kids):

If your child is unable to play for any reason please contact your team coach or reply to Dave Sayers
who will pass message on as if we know in time we may be able to get a player from one of the other
teams to double up and therefore we avoid playing short or having to borrow from the other team.
Telephone numbers/email of team coaches above fixtures, results and scorers item 9.

Canteen roster (Coordinator Alison Nicholas contact details below):

We are now calling for Seadragon Canteen volunteers. Volunteering for canteen is easy and
a great way for Seadragon Supporters to catch up with others, help out and watch their
Seadragon's game! If each family (without coaching commitments) can help out one
Saturday during the term the Seadragons Canteen will run at its most efficient and most
profitable. Canteen is the Seadragons Soccer Club's biggest fundraiser so your support is
essential!

Instructions for Volunteers: What to do?

Alison (canteen coordinator) will contact you a few days before your rostered on Saturday to
organised who will bring what.

Volunteers will buy/bring bread, milk, free-range eggs and sliced onions (we love eggs
from home gardens)

Boks bacon and sausages will be provided by Alison, either Friday night training or
before matches start on Saturday.

if more sausages etc. are required on the day, they can be purchased locally in
Cygnet.

Please arrive 15mins before first game starts.

When you get there the canteen will be unlocked. All the stock and supplies are in plastic
boxes and cupboards inside the canteen.

Volunteers setup inside canteen, ready for service; setup bbq, cook bacon, eggs, onions
and sausages; serve; clean up and put everything back.

Volunteers place receipts in Float container and please reimburse yourselves for any
expenses. Float goes back to canteen coordinator.
