MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 4-6; Luke 7:1-25
Monday, April 6
Matt. 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest.
Righteous Lord and Living God:
There is no work like trying to work for your own salvation. There is
nothing harder than trying to earn my way to heaven. Thank you for leading me
to the ultimate rest in Jesus. Give me a voice today to draw others to the cross
and the finished work of Christ!
Nothing can be freer than a gift. I pray for someone today to accept gladly
what you have to give, because what you have to give them is so great. They
cannot buy it. They are not allowed to borrow it. But by faith they may freely
receive it. Let __________ and __________ put their trust in you right now.
Lord, how many people do I see (and I work with!) who labor under the
lash of personal ambition? They toil under the care of covetousness. They work
overtime for lust. They always seek more, trying to relieve their anxiety. Send me
with the gospel message to set them free of that iron bondage and give them rest.
They are laden. Yes, heavy laden with sin, heavy laden with fear, heavy
laden with remorse, heaven laden with wearinessfeeling trapped and
imprisoned by work, by life, by fear of death. Make them come to you, for you
will unload them. If you carried the crushing mass of my sin, and became my
great burden-bearer, then I can escape this pressure by giving all my cares back to
you. I do that when I give-up my control, and give control of my life over to you.
1 Pet. 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Jesus gives rest. I put that to the test today. I end every false hope in order
to think of him, believe Gods testimony, and trust everything to Christ. And for
this you will give me a rest that deepens into heaven. Thank you, Lord! Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 13-15; Luke 8:29-56
Thursday, April 9
Luke 19:5-6,9-10 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him,
and said unto him, Zacchus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy
house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And Jesus said unto him,
This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. For the
Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 10-12; Luke 8:1-28
Wednesday, April 8
Zech. 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the
LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
Dear Angel of the Covenant:
Help me see myself in my Joshua. I am made nigh by the blood of Jesus.
You are teaching me now at this church how to minister in spiritual things. And
through ministry I can enter into that which is within the veil (Heb. 6:19). Jesus makes
me a king and priest unto God. Even on this planet I am to exercise the
priesthood of a life consecrated to you, and set apart for your plan.
I am Joshua, standing in order to minister, and having done all to stand
(Eph. 6:13). Jesus is right now sitting, enabling me by his prayers to keep standing.
Make that my true position. Every place is now your temple. I can as truly serve
you at work, and at home, as in ministry involvements in church.
Make me always ministering, offering the spiritual incense of prayer, and
the sacrifice of praise. Right now I present myself a living sacrifice, a morning
offering for this day. I stand to minister before the angel of the Lord. It is only
through his mediation that my poor, defiled life can ever attain to priestly activity.
I present what I have before you today, you who are the messenger of the
covenant, Lord Jesus. Through you my prayers find acceptance as they are
wrapped within your own intercessions.
If I can bring you nothing but my tears, you will add them to your own in a
bottle (Ps. 56:8). If I can bring you nothing but my groans and sighs for the
people and children I want to see saved, you see these as an acceptable sacrifice.
Standing in the beloved, I am accepted in you, and all my polluted good works
are received as a sweet savor. Make me content in your blessing, and let me do
even more of this spiritual work through prayer! I ask this for Jesus sake. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: 1Samuel 19-21; Luke 9:32-62
Saturday, April 11
Rom. 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Psa. 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy
right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Lord of Life:
There must be confession in order to be possession. No mere mental
assent will be accepted.
Help us confess you also before others, and say Jesus is Lord of our lives!
There must be belief in order for the heart to be engaged. We are not
motivated to do things we have no emotional attachment to. Help us act like we
should act, so we can begin feeling what we should feel! If you raised Jesus up
from the dead, it is no great miracle for you to raise-up the dormant emotions of
our church, and make us faithful and eager in ministry.
If we have truly and sincerely both confessed and believed, we are saved
saved from sin and self. As believers we are saved from hell; as confessors we are
saved from the world. We are saved spiritually and set apart materially. We can
then plead this verse before the altar, throughout our life, and at the judgment
seat of Christ. Thats because we are saved from the guilt of sin, from the
chastisement of carnality, and from the shame of being distracted from the
mission.
Lord, deliver us today even as you saved us in the past, and preserve us for
the future. Lord, use us to take the tale of everlasting and eternal salvation to
others. Lord, let many people be added to your kingdom this Sunday through our
praise and our worship services! Make the preaching practical with power.
Rom. 10:10,13 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan
Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
