AL LOCATION OF CRITICAL COMPONENTS Located in the tail section between the left and right engines, Air intake is located on the bottom of the fuselage just below the unit itself The internal shutdown is located in the cockpit, left center overhead console. ‘The external shutdown is located on the left hand side just below the left engine. SHUTDOWN AND EXTINGUISHING PROCEDURES 1 2. Internal shutdown is located left center overhead console This system operates by flipping the toggle switch which is located below the “FIRE CONTROL MASTER” to the “APU OFF & AGENT ARMED” position. Flipping this switch shuts off the unit and arms the extinguishing system To discharge agent into the unit, flip either toggle switch located under the “FIRE AGENT” to the discharge position. Two shots of agent can be applied. External shutdown: is located just below the left engine, behind the access panel marked A.P.U. shutdown. Access panel and flip the toggle switch marked AP.U. to the shut off position. Flipping this switch also arms the extinguishing system Lift lever and flip either toggle switch (Bottle 1 or Bottle 2) to discharge agent into engine ‘Access to the A.P.U. can be gained by lowering the access doors found under the unit on the bottom of the fuselage. ‘Agents can also be discharged into the air intake which is located just forward of the access doors. There are two modes of operation: when there is a fire indication or an overheat and when there is no fire indication. The T-handle will illuminate RED if there is an indication of fire or overheat Ifilluminated RED (indication of fire or overheat), pull and fully extend T- handle to shut down engine. Once pulled, twist T-handle to discharge agent into engine. Twist the handle in the opposite direction to discharge additional agent. If the T-handle is not illuminated (no indicativn of fire or overheat), pull the T-handle to shut down air, fuel, and hydraulics to respective engine. B. _ INTERNAL A.P.U. SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES 1 2. Internal shutdown is located left center overhead console. This system operates by flipping the toggle switch which is located below the “FIRE CONTROL MASTER” to the “APL! OFF & AGENT ARMED” position, Flipping the switch shuts off the unit and arms the extinguishing system. To discharge agent into the unit, flip either toggle switch located under the “FIRE AGENT” to discharge position, Two shots of agent can be applied C. BATTERY SHUTDOWN PROCEDURES 2, 3 4 Master Switch is located center overhead console just below the internal APU fire control on the left hand side. MAIN CABIN DOORS/SERVICE DOORS 1, The number and location of main cabin doors will vary depending on the model aircraft 2. Regardless of which model, all doors operate in the same manner. 3. To operate from inside, grasp handle and rotete in the direction of the arrow The doors will move inward then outward and swing forward. The escape will deploy unless you remove the girt bar from the brackets mounted in the floor. 4. Ifthe door is opened from the outside the escape slide will deploy. 5. To operate from outside grasp and pull door handle out and rotate in the direction of the arrow. Door will move inward and then swing out forward OVER-WING EXITS 1, The number of over-wing exits will vary (either one or two per side) depending on the model of aircraft 2. All over-wing exits operate in the same manner. 3. These exits are plug type design. To operate push handle release, pull handle while exerting inward pressure at the top of the exit. Exit will move inward. COCKPIT WINDOWS 1. Cockpit windows CANNOT be opened from the outside. 2. Cockpit windows can be opened from the inside by unlocking the window, pulling inward and sliding the window back OPTIONAL EXITS 1. All models incorporate a tail-cone jettison system that can be actuated from inside or outside the aircraft 2. Internal actuation requires access through the rear bulkhead door. Proceed down to the end of the gangplank. Locate and grasp the “D” shape release handle on the right side facing aft. Pulling this handle releases the tail cone allowing it to fall away from the aircraft. 3. External operation requires you to grasp the release handle located at the left rear portion of the fuselage and pull handle and cable out until it is fully extended. This releases the tail cone allowing it to fall from the aircraft Either operation automatically releases the escape slide for deployment.
