Ans: Society for Biological Engineering Universitas Indonesia Student Chapter (SBE
UISC)isaclubunderIkatanMahasiswaTeknikKimia(ChemicalEngineeringStudent
Society) in Chemical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas
Indonesia.ItisthefisrtSBEstudentchapterinIndonesia,thefirstinsoutheastasia,and
thesecondinAsia.SBEUISCrecruitmemberfromthedepartment(chemicalengineering
and bioprocess technology students) and held some activities such as guest lecture,
companyvisit,membergathering,etc.SBEUISCprovidedasaclubfirstlylaunchedinthe
faculty in 2010 and have gain attention from the society. SBE UISC runs by students
mostlyfrombioprocesstechnology,butalsostudentsfromchemicalengineering.Itwas
intendedforstudentswhohasinterestinfieldsbesideoilandgas(whichclubsalready
establishedinthedepartmentbeforeSBE).Everyyearthepresidentelectedfromstudents
inthethirdyear/secondyearofstudyprogram.

Ans:Biologicalengineeringcansolveproblemrelatedtorenewableenergysources
andreplacesthehazardousmaterialsthatcommonlyusedinIndonesia.
Toachieveit,theengineerneedsupportfromgovernmenttocreatetheindustrial
regulationinIndonesia.
