Assessment Task
You are required to produce a report that investigates specific Information Technology (IT)
Platforms within the context of a wider issue relevant to current industry practice.
The report should address a topic that you will select from a prepared list and agree with
your tutor. You will then be expected to choose one or more IT Platforms, which will
provide the context for your discussion of the wider topic.
The report should include all the following elements relevant to the selected topic:
a. A detailed description of the models, methods, characteristics and parameters
associated with your chosen IT platforms, including an analysis of their relevance
to the broader topic.
b. A detailed assessment of your chosen topic that identifies the key concepts and
issues. This should explore how these apply within the context of the IT
Platform(s) you selected.
c. An Evaluation of your chosen IT platforms in the context of your wider topic focus.

components, characteristics, models, applications, and the factors that influence

Analyse information technology platforms in terms of software and architecture for
a specific solution or application accounting for the changeable environment or
context in which this might arise.
