High Mount Brake Light Seal Comes Loose


(Supersedes 09-008, dated February 14, 2009, to revise the information marked by the black bars)

REVISION SUMMARY REPAIR PROCEDURE


• In Applies To, 2007–08 Fit models were added. 1. Remove the high mount brake light:
• Under PARTS INFORMATION, a Stop Rubber Kit • Refer to the appropriate service manual, or
for 2007–08 models was added. • Online, enter keywords HIGH MOUNT, and
select High Mount Brake Light Replacement
PROBLEM from the list.
The high mount brake light seal is loose, hanging 2. Remove all of the rubber seal and the adhesive

3. Attach double-sided tape from the kit to the areas
shown below.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
NOTE:
Install a new seal with double-sided tape.
• Apply the tape from the outside of the edge, then
fold it inward.
PARTS INFORMATION • The 2009 model is shown; 2007–08 models are
Stop Rubber Kit: similar.

NOTE: The kit includes enough double-sided tape to


do two repairs, but includes only one seal.

4. Install the new rubber seal. Press it tightly against
the tape to ensure good adhesion.

5. Reinstall the high mount brake light.


6. Make sure the brake light works properly.
