Prparation
sortie DC 9V, 500 mA, avec broche centrale

positive. Veillez teindre lappareil avant
de brancher ladaptateur la prise secteur
et son cordon lappareil. Cela coupera
automatiquement lalimentation par piles.
Prenez soin de votre instrument

1. Evitez de le placer dans des endroits
trop humides, trop chauds ou trop
poussireux.
2. Ne placez aucun objet lourd sur
linstrument et ne le soumettez aucun
choc physique.
3. Nutilisez aucun produit chimique de
type benzne ou diluant pour nettoyer
lunit.
Important :
1. Ladaptateur peut chauffer en cours
dutilisation. Cest normal et nest pas d
un problme.
2. Veuillez dbrancher ladaptateur de
la prise dalimentation quand vous
nutilisez pas lappareil.
3. Nutilisez jamais une alimentation ne
correspondant pas aux caractristiques
spcifies pour linstrument.
Alimentation lectrique
Vous pouvez alimenter linstrument par
piles ou adaptateur secteur (aucun des deux
nest fourni). Suivez les instructions dcrites
ci-dessous.
Emploi de piles
6 piles alcalines de taille C (SUM-2 ou R-14)
doivent dabord tre installes dans le
compartiment des piles.
1. Ouvrez le compartiment des piles situ
sous linstrument.
2. Insrez les piles en respectant les
indications de polarit marques sur
linstrument.
3. Replacez le capot du compartiment en
vous assurant quil est bien bloqu
Branchement
Branchement dun casque
Un casque peut tre branch en prise
PHONES/OUTPUT situe larrire de
lappareil. Le haut-parleur interne est coup
automatiquement quand un casque est
branch cette prise.
Attention :
Ne mlangez pas des piles neuves et
anciennes.
Utilisez toujours des piles du mme type.
Pensez toujours retirer les piles de
linstrument quand celui-ci nest pas utilis
durant une priode prolonge.
Emploi de ladaptateur secteur
Un adaptateur secteur est ncessaire si
vous voulez utiliser le courant lectrique
domestique. Ladaptateur doit avoir une

Branchez un cordon audio en prise PHONES
(casque), puis branchez lautre extrmit
du cordon en entre LINE IN ou AUX IN de
lamplificateur.

Branchement dun microphone

Vrifiez que linterrupteur dalimentation
Power du clavier est sur OFF. Branchez un
microphone dans la prise MIC IN.
Remarque :
Nutilisez quun microphone mono pour cette
fonction (microphone non fourni).

Lecture des morceaux
Jeu au clavier
1. Pour allumer le clavier, rglez
linterrupteur dalimentation [power]
sur ON. Lcran sallume
Remarque :
Pour vous rappeler dconomiser
lnergie durant le fonctionnement, le
clavier produit automatiquement un son
si vous navez press aucune touche
durant 2 minutes.
2. Rglez le volume au niveau dsir.
Appuyez plusieurs fois sur les boutons
[VOLUME +/-] pour augmenter ou
diminuer le volume. Le volume du clavier
se rgle entre 00 (pas de son) et 99
(maximum) et le niveau de volume actuel
est affich.
Vous pouvez couter nimporte lequel des

100 morceaux dans la liste se trouvant sur la
droite de la faade. Chaque morceau est jou
avec le son prrgl de la mlodie.
1. Appuyez sur [song]. Lcran affiche
SONG et le numro du morceau actuel.
2. Choisissez un morceau dans la liste
des morceaux en tapant son numro
deux chiffres sur le pav numrique.
Sinon, vous pouvez appuyer sur [-] ou
[+] pour passer au morceau de numro
immdiatement infrieur ou suprieur.

3. Appuyez sur [start/stop] pour lancer la

lecture du morceau.

Vous pouvez changer de morceau en

rptant ltape 2 mme en cours de jeu. Le
nouveau morceau dmarre immdiatement.
Le morceau choisi continuera jusqu ce que
vous larrtiez. Quand un morceau est lu,
lcran affiche.
un clavier qui vous montre les notes
joues dans le morceau.
6. Trois types de leon

La fonction dapprentissage de
votre clavier permet aux dbutants
dapprendre et de jouer facilement un
des morceaux prenregistr.
Pressez [song] puis pressez plusieurs
fois [lesson] jusqu ce que le tmoin
saffiche en face de lesson 1, lesson 2
ou lesson 3 sur la gauche de lcran.

4. Pour changer le tempo, pressez autant

de fois que ncessaire [tempo+] ou
[tempo-].
Le rglage de tempo actuel apparat.
5. Pour changer de morceau, rptez

ltape 2. Pour arrter, appuyez sur
[start/stop].
Si vous voulez faire jouer le morceau

avec accompagnement en mode
dapprentissage, pressez plusieurs fois
[lesson] jusqu ce que le tmoin saffiche
en face de lesson 3.
Lesson 1 (une touche) Pressez [start/
stop]. La premire note du morceau
slectionn saffiche lcran. Pressez
nimporte quelle touche du clavier au
bon moment pour apprendre le tempo
du morceau slectionn. Vous verrez

la note suivante safficher pour votre
apprentissage et pour que vous la
pressiez; sinon, linstrument reste en
attente. Pour arrter lapprentissage,
pressez nouveau [start/stop]. Si vous
pressez [lesson], le tmoin apparat prs
de LESSON 2 et une note saffiche.
Lesson 2 (attente)
Dans ce mode, vous pouvez apprendre
jouer les bonnes notes dun morceau
de dmonstration. Le morceau ne se
poursuit que si vous avez press les
bonnes touches telles quaffiches
lcran. Linstrument reste en attente si
vous vous trompez de touche.
Lesson 3 (sans mlodie)
Dans ce mode, suivez la note actuelle
et le tempo pour jouer en mme temps
que le morceau de dmonstration. Le
clavier se charge de laccompagnement
et affiche la porte et les notes de
la mlodie que vous devez suivre.
Laccompagnement continue de jouer.
Si vous suivez la fois la bonne note et
le bon tempo, vous marquez des points;
sinon, votre score se rduit.
valuation
Lesson 2 et Lesson 3 ont une
fonction dvaluation. Il y a quatre
niveaux. Aprs la leon, le programme
vous indiquera le niveau que vous avez
atteint.
Niveau 4 : excellent
Niveau 3 : trs bon
Niveau 2 : bon
Niveau 1 : OK
Aprs valuation, le morceau est de nouveau
jou, toujours en mode leon.
Lecture de la dmonstration
Vous pouvez couter nimporte laquelle des
100 dmos. Chaque morceau est jou avec le
son prrgl de la mlodie.
1. Pressez [dmo] pour lancer la lecture
dune dmo. Lcran affiche dE et le
numro de la dmo actuelle.

2. Choisissez un morceau parmi la liste

DEMOS et saisissez son numro deux
chiffres sur le pav numrique. Vous
pouvez presser [+] ou [-] pour passer la
dmo prcdente ou suivante.
3. Pressez [start/stop] ou [dmo] pour

cesser la lecture du morceau.
Sons
Slection dun son
Votre clavier peut produire le son de 10
instruments de musique diffrents. Le nom
et le numro deux chiffres de chaque son
prrgl est donn dans la liste VOICES en
face avant du clavier.
1. Appuyez sur [voice] (son). VOICE et le
numro de son actuel apparatront.

Transposition
1. Pressez [function] et lcran LCD
affichera TPS 0 (pas de transposition);
utilisez [+] ou [-] pour transposer la
hauteur dans une plage de 6 demi-tons.

2. Pour changer de son, choisissez un son

prprogramm dans la liste VOICES et
saisissez son numro deux chiffres
avec le pav numrique. Faites prcder
un numro simple chiffre dun 0.
Par exemple, pour slectionner Clavi
(08), appuyez sur 0 et sur 8. Quand
vous pressez les touches, les chiffres
slectionns apparaissent.
3. Sinon, vous pouvez utiliser [+] ou

[-] pour accder au numro de son
immdiatement suprieur ou infrieur.
2. Le clavier slectionne automatiquement

la tonalit du do mdian chaque fois
que vous le mettez sous tension. Pour
plus de souplesse, pressez [function]
jusqu ce que TPS 0 saffiche. La
valeur affiche aprs TPS est la valeur
de transposition actuelle. Sil ny a pas de
symbole sur la gauche de cette valeur,
cest quelle est positive. Sil y a un -
sur sa gauche, cest que la valeur est
ngative. Pressez [+] ou [-] pour rgler
la hauteur de base du clavier dans une
plage de 6 demi-tons. Pressez en
mme temps [+] et [-] pour ramener la
transposition 0. La nouvelle valeur
de transposition entre en vigueur
immdiatement aprs son rglage
Vous pouvez maintenant commencer jouer

sur le clavier.

Emploi du sustain (maintien)
Styles
Pour plus de flexibilit et de contrle quand

vous faites de la musique, vous pouvez
demander au clavier de maintenir le son
1. Pour maintenir les notes que vous jouez,
pressez [sustain]. SUSTAIN apparat
et le clavier maintient les notes joues
jusqu ce que vous relchiez [sustain].
Slection dun style

Votre clavier a 100 styles prrgls
fournissant une robuste assise votre
musique. Chaque fois que vous allumez
votre clavier, celui-ci slectionne
automatiquement le style 8 BEAT 1.
1. Pressez [style]. STYLE et le numro
du style actuel saffiche.
De 00 99

2. Pressez nouveau [sustain] pour

dsactiver cette fonction.
Emploi du piano
Le mode Piano fait jouer le son de piano et
arrte tous les autres sons et styles en mode
de jeu.
1. Pressez [piano] pour passer en mode
Piano. PIANO saffiche.

2. Pour slectionner un autre style,

choisissez un style dans la liste STYLES
et saisissez son numro deux chiffres
sur le pav numrique. Par exemple,
pour slectionner 04 qui correspond
8 BEAT 4, pressez 0 et 4. Le style
04 apparat.0 et 4. Le style 04
apparat.
Pressez plusieurs fois [+] ou [-] pour
passer au style prcdent ou suivant
2. Pour quitter le mode Piano, pressez

[voice], [song], [style], [demo],
nimporte lequel des 5 boutons mmoire
en statut mmoire ou nouveau
[piano].
3. Pressez [start/stop] pour lancer le
style slectionn.
4. Pressez [acc.vol] pour rgler le volume

daccompagnement sur le niveau dsir.

Commencez jouer au clavier. Linstrument

lance lexcution du style automatiquement
ds que vous appuyez sur une touche.
De 0 9
5. Pour changer le tempo, pressez

plusieurs fois [tempo +] ou [tempo -].
Le rglage de tempo actuel apparat.
Vous pouvez rgler le tempo dun style

automatique de 40 240 battements par
minute.
Pour ramener le tempo sa valeur
dorigine (par dfaut), pressez en mme
temps [tempo +] et [tempo-].
6. Jouez sur le clavier en mme temps que
le style.
Emploi de transition
Appuyez simplement sur [sync/fill]
pendant que le style automatique est lu.
Linstrument insre une variation, puis le
style dorigine reprend automatiquement la
fin de la mesure de transition.
Sinon, pour insrer une variation plus longue,
maintenez enfonc [sync/fill]. Linstrument
jouera une variation jusqu ce que vous
relchiez [sync/fill].
7. Pour stopper le style automatique,

pressez nouveau [start/stop].
Emploi de la fonction basse

accord automatique
Emploi de la synchronisation
Cette fonction vous permet de synchroniser
le dmarrage dun style automatique avec
le dbut de votre jeu au clavier. Aprs avoir
slectionn un style automatique, appuyez
sur [sync/fill]. Les numros de battement
sous le tempo et le mtronome clignotent
pour indiquer que le clavier est en mode dattente.
Les 19 touches de gauche du clavier portant

des intituls de note (en notation anglaise,
savoir A=La, B=Si, C=Do, D=R, E=Mi,
F=Fa, G=Sol) au-dessus delles sont dites
touches daccompagnement. Les touches
daccompagnement que vous pressez
dterminent le type daccord que vous jouez.
Vous pouvez rgler le clavier pour jouer avec
ou sans accompagnement.

Votre clavier est par dfaut en mode normal.
Suivez les tapes de Doigt simplifi
ou Doigt normal pour choisir un mode
daccompagnement.
Doigt simplifi
1. Pressez [A.B.C.]. A.B.C. apparat sur le
ct gauche de lcran.

2. Pressez [style] et saisissez un numro

deux chiffres de style.
3. Pour lancer le style avant
laccompagnement, pressez [start/
stop]. Pour synchroniser le dmarrage
du rythme slectionn avec votre
accompagnement, pressez [sync/fill].
7. Pour stopper la fois laccompagnement

et le style, pressez [start/stop].
Normal mode normal
Les accords sont dsactivs dans ce mode
(mais vous pouvez slectionner le son et le
style).
S.Finger mode de doigt simplifi
Ce mode vous permet de faire
jouer des accords avec les touches
daccompagnement en utilisant un doigt
simplifi (voir Doigt simplifi).
Fingered mode de doigt standard
Ce mode vous permet de jouer des accords
sur les touches daccompagnement en
enfonant trois notes ou plus composant
laccord. Le nom de laccord saffiche
lcran. Le nombre de touches que vous
pressez dtermine le type daccord jou.
Doigt standard
4. Pour lancer laccompagnement au

moment dsir, pressez les touches
daccompagnement voulu.

La mthode de doigt standard utilise

le jeu standard de trois notes ou plus; il
permet des musiciens expriments de
jouer une plus grande varit daccords
daccompagnement. Suivez les mmes
tapes que celles indiques pour le doigt
simplifi afin de lancer laccompagnement
automatique avec un doigt standard.

la valeur dsire.
6. Pour stopper laccompagnement plutt
que le style, pressez nouveau [A.B.C.]

Emploi de la configuration
instantane
REMARQUE :
Durant lenregistrement, vous pouvez mettre
en service le mtronome, il ne sera pas
enregistr.
La fonction de configuration instantane

(One Touch setting ou OTS) de votre clavier
vous permet de faire jouer automatiquement
un son prrgl adapt au style que vous
avez slectionn. Suivez ces tapes pour
activer la configuration instantane (OTS).
1. Pressez [style].
2. Saisissez un numro de style deux
chiffres.
3. Pressez [O.T.S.]. O.T.S apparat.
4. Pressez [voice]. Le son prrgl
correspondant au style slectionn
apparat.

[metro] pour couper le mtronome.

Pressez trois fois le bouton [function]
et lcran LCD affiche CH XX (XX tant
le canal MIDI), puis utilisez [+] ou [-] pour
changer le canal de sortie MIDI de 01 16.

Enregistrement et lecture
Le dictionnaire daccords (chord direct) est
une procdure interne qui vous permet de
connatre la composition dun accord. Cette
fonction vous permet de connatre les noms
daccord et dapprendre rapidement les
accords.
Vous pouvez enregistrer une squence

pouvant atteindre 37 notes.
1. Pressez [record] pour lancer
lenregistrement. REC apparat.

2. Jouez les notes que vous voulez

enregistrer
3. Pour stopper lenregistrement, pressez

[record] nouveau et REC disparat.
4. Pressez [play/stop] pour lire les
notes que vous avez enregistres.
PLAYapparat.
5. Pressez nouveau [play/stop] pour
arrter la lecture.
1. Jouez les notes voulues sur le clavier

en fonction de la tonique (fondamentale)
de laccord. La zone daccord de lcran
LCD affiche la tonique ainsi que le nom
de laccord et les notes qui le composent
laide de ses portes.

2. Jouez les accords sur le clavier dans la

zone daccompagnement automatique,
conformment aux indications
chord direct de lcran LCD, et des
applaudissements se feront entendre
par le haut-parleur si les bonnes notes
ont t presses.

REMARQUE :
Si lalimentation du clavier est coupe,
lenregistrement sarrte et tout
enregistrement fait est perdu.

Mmoires/percussions
Mmoires
Pressez [memory/percussion] pour faire
alterner la fonction. La valeur par dfaut est
memory (mmoire) la mise sous tension.
Pressez et maintenez [write] et pressez [M1/
pad1] (ou [M2/pad2] [M5/pad5]) en mme
temps pour mmoriser le son, le style, le
tempo, le volume daccompagnement, la
valeur de mesure, ltat On/Off du sustain,
la valeur de transposition ou la valeur de
canal MIDI actuels. Lemplacement mmoire
([M1/pad1] [M5/pad5]) rappelle le mode
mmoris durant le jeu.
REMARQUE :
Le clavier effacera toute assignation de son
quand vous lteindrez.
Suivez ces tapes pour enregistrer et lire un
enregistrement de percussions.
1. Pressez [voice] puis saisissez 00 sur
le pav numrique.
2. Slectionnez les sons de batterie en
pressant nimporte lesquelles des 49
touches jusqu ce que vous trouviez le
son dsir.
3. Tenez enfonc le pad de percussion
auquel vous voulez assigner le son en
question et pressez la touche dsire.
Les rglages mmoriss retrouveront

leur valeur par dfaut aprs coupure de
lalimentation.
Percussions
Les pads de percussion de votre clavier
dclenchent des sons de grosse caisse,
caisse claire, charleston ouverte, tom aigu et
charleston ferme.
Pressez simplement [memory/percussion].
PER saffiche. Le clavier joue le son de
percussion slectionn chaque fois que vous
pressez le pad.
Suivez ces tapes pour enregistrer et lire un
enregistrement de percussions.
Emploi du MIDI
1. Votre clavier dispose dune interface
MIDI (interface numrique pour
instrument de musique). Le MIDI est

la norme universelle pour envoyer

et recevoir des donnes de jeu entre
instruments de musique lectroniques.
2. laide du MIDI, vous pouvez jouer
de la musique sur votre clavier et
simultanment sur un autre instrument
en ne jouant que sur lun des deux.
Vous pouvez enregistrer votre musique
dans un squenceur, et bnficier dune
plus large slection de sons grce un
module de sons.
3. Tout instrument compatible MIDI a une
prise MIDI OUT et certains ont aussi une
prise MIDI IN et MIDI THRU. Chacune
de ces prises a un emploi diffrent. La
prise MIDI OUT envoie les donnes MIDI
(parle) dautres instruments MIDI.
4. Ce clavier a une prise MIDI OUT. Veuillez
vous rfrer aux instructions suivantes.
Slectionnez le canal de transmission

MIDI en pressant [+] ou [-]. La plage de
slection est 01-16 et la valeur par dfaut
est 01. Une fois la connexion faite, les
donnes MIDI du clavier sont envoyes
automatiquement quand vous jouez.
3. Un message de coupure de toutes les
notes (All Notes Off) sera envoy en cas
de transposition, de changement de
canal MIDI ou de lancement dune dmo.
Connexion dun appareil externe

Pour que deux instruments MIDI
communiquent, ils doivent tre relis par
des cbles MIDI. Dans un exemple basique,
la prise MIDI OUT de ce clavier doit tre
branche la prise MIDI IN dun squenceur,
ce qui vous permet denregistrer votre jeu
depuis ce clavier.
Prise MIDI OUT
Branchez le cble MIDI
cette prise.
Branchement un PC
(ordinateur personnel)
teignez la fois le clavier et le PC. Reliez le
clavier et le PC laide dun cble adaptateur
MIDI (une extrmit avec fiche 5 broches et
lautre avec 15 broches). Allumez le clavier et
le PC en gardant le volume au minimum par

Getting prepared
supply cord to the instrument. This will

automatically bypass the batteries.
Taking care of your instrument

1. Do not place or store the instrument in
extremely damp, hot or dusty places.
2. Avoid placing heavy objects on the
instrument or exposing it to physical
shocks.
3. Do not use any chemical agents to clean
its surface such as benzene or thinners.
Power supply
This instrument can be powered with
batteries or with an DC adaptor (none of
these are included). Follow the instructions
below.
Batteries
Firstly, insert 6C-size alkaline batteries
(SUM-2 or R-14) in the battery holder.
1. Open the battery holder located under the
instrument.
2. Insert the batteries and make sure you
respect the polarity indicated on the
instrument.
3. Replace the battery cover and make sure
it is closed correctly.
Warning:
Do not use old and new batteries together.
Always use batteries of the same type.
Always remember to remove the batteries
when the instrument is not to be used for
an extended period of time.
DC adaptor
Use an DC adaptor whenever you want to
use domestic electrical power. The DC
adaptor must have a DC 9V, 500mA output,
with a positive central pin. Make sure the
instrument is turned off before connecting
the DC adaptor to the wall outlet and its

1. When used, the DC adaptor can generate
heat. This is normal.
2. Please disconnect the DC adaptor from
the wall outlet when the instrument is not
in use.
3. Never use a type of power supply that
does not correspond to the one specified
for the instrument.
Connections
Connecting headphones
Headphones can be plugged into the
PHONES/OUTPUT connector on the rear of
the instrument.
The internal speaker is automatically
disconnected when headphones are plugged
into that jack output.
Connecting an amplifier
Plug an audio cable into the PHONES/
OUTPUT connector, and then plug the other
end of the cable into the LINE IN or AUX IN
connector of the amplifier.

Connecting a microphone
Make sure the keyboard is switched off,
and then plug a microphone into the MIC IN
connector.
Note:
Only use a mono microphone (not included).

Playing songs
Playing the keyboard

1. To turn the keyboard on, move the
[power] switch to the ON position. The
display lights up.
Note: To help you remember to save
power while the instrument is on, the
keyboard produces a sound automatically
if you have not pressed a key for
2minutes.
2. Adjust the volume to the desired level.
Press the [volume +/-] repeatedly to
increase or decrease it, from 0 (no sound)
to 99 (maximum level). The level currently
selected is displayed.
You can listen to any of the 100songs listed

on the right-hand side of the front panel.
Each song is played with its preset melody
voice.
1. Press the [song] button. SONG and
the current song number appear on the
display.
2. Select a song in the Song List by entering
its 2-digit number on the keypad. You can
also press the [-] or [+] button to select the
next song up or down in the list.

3. Press the [start/stop] button to play the

song.

You can select a different song even when

a song is being played by repeating step2.
The new song starts immediately. It will keep
on playing until you stop it. When a song is
played, the following information is indicated
on the display:
The notes composing the song are
indicated in the keyboard area of the
display.
6. 3lesson modes
The Lesson mode helps beginners to learn
the preset songs easily.
Press the [song] button, then press the
[lesson] button repeatedly so that the
indicator on the left-hand side of the
display is next to lesson1, lesson2 or
lesson3.

to show how many beats there are in each
bar.

Choose a song in the Songs list and select

it by entering its 2-digit number on the
keypad. You can also press the [-] or [+]
button to select the following or previous
song in the list.

4. Press [tempo+] or [tempo-] repeatedly

to modify the tempo value. The current
tempo value appears on the display.
5. Repeat Step2 to choose a different song.

Press the [start/stop] button to stop the
song.
If you wish to hear the song play with an

accompaniment in the Lesson mode, press
the [lesson] button repeatedly until the
indicator appears in front of lesson3.
Lesson1 (one key):
Press the [start/stop] button. The first
note of the selected song appears on the
display. Press any key on the keyboard at
the right time to learn the tempo of the
selected song. The next note in the song
appears on the display so that you can

learn it and press it. The keyboard stays on

hold until you perform this action. To exit
the Lesson mode, press the [start/stop]
button again. If you press the [lesson]
button, the indicator next to lesson2
lights up and a note appears on the display.
Lesson2 (waiting):
In this mode, you can learn how to play the
right notes of a demo song. The song only
keeps on playing if you press the correct
keys that are indicated on the display. The
keyboard stays on hold if you press an
incorrect key.
Lesson3 (no melody):
In this mode, you have to follow the current
note and tempo to play along with the
demo song. The keyboard takes care of
the accompaniment part and displays the
stave and the notes of the melody that you
have to follow.
The accompaniment carries on as long
as the correct note is being played at the
correct tempo; you score points when you
perform well. When you make mistakes,
your score is lowered.
Grading
Lesson2 and Lesson3 have a grading
feature consisting of fourlevels. At the end
of the lesson, the program indicates the level
you have achieved during your performance.
Level4: Excellent
Level3: Very good
Level2: Good
Level1: OK
Once the grading process is completed, the
song is played once again, still in Lesson
mode.
Demonstration
You can listen to any of the 100demo songs.
Each song is played with its preset melody
voice.
1. Press the [demo] button to start playing
a demo song. dE and the currently
selected song number are displayed.

2. Choose a song from the DEMO Song List

and enter its 2-digit number using the
keypad. You can also press the [-] or [+]
button to select the following or previous
demo song in the list.
3. Press the [start/stop] or [demo] button

to stop the song playback.
Voices
Selecting a voice
Your keyboard can reproduce the sounds of
100different musical instruments. The name
and 2-digit number of each preset voice is
indicated in the VOICE List on the keyboard
front panel.
1. Press the [voice] button. VOICE and
the currently selected voice number are
displayed.

Transposing
1. Press the [function] button and TPS0
(no transpose) appears on the display.
Press the [-] or [+] button to select a
transpose value for the keyboard ranging
from 6 semitones.

2. To choose a different voice, select a preset

voice from the VOICE list and enter its
2-digit number using the keypad. For
numbers from 1 to 9, add 0 in front. For
example, in order to select Clavi (08),
press 0, then 8. When you press the
keys, the corresponding ciphers appear
on the display.
3. You can also use the [-] or [+] button to

select the voice immediately above or
below in the list.
2. The keyboard automatically selects the

key of middle C each time you switch it
on. For increased flexibility, press the
[function] button until TPS0 appears
on the display. The value indicated after
TPS is the current transpose value.
The absence of a symbol to the left of this
value means the value is positive. If there
is a - sign on its left, then the value is
negative. Press the [-] or [+] button to
adjust the default keyboard pitch ranging
from 6 semitones. Press the [-] and [+]
buttons simultaneously to revert to the
default value (0). The new transpose value
is effective immediately.
4. You are now ready to play the keyboard.

Sustain
Styles
Selecting a style
For increased flexibility and control while

playing, you can have the keyboard use a
sustain effect on the notes.
1. Press the [sustain] button to have the
keyboard sustain the notes you play.
SUSTAIN appears on the display and the
notes you are playing are sustained until
you release the [sustain] button.

Your keyboard offers 100preset styles from

which to choose to serve as a basis for your
own performance. Each time you switch
the keyboard on, the 8 BEAT 1 style is
automatically loaded.
1. Press the [style] button. STYLE and
the current style number appear on the
display.
From 00 to 99
2. Press the [sustain] button again to

deactivate this function.
Piano
The Piano mode plays the Piano voice only,
stopping any other voices and styles in use.
1. Press the [piano] button to switch to
Piano mode.
2. To select a different style, choose a style

from the STYLE list and type its number
on the keypad. For example, to select
04, which corresponds to 8 BEAT 4,
press 0, then 4. Style 04 appears
on the display. Press the [-] or [+] button
repeatedly to select previous or following
styles.
2. To exit the Piano mode, press the [voice],

[song], [style], [demo], any of the
5memory buttons in memory mode or
the [piano] button a second time.
3. Press the [start/stop] button to start

playing the selected style.
4. Press the [acc.vol] button to adjust the

volume of the accompaniment as desired.

Start playing on the keyboard. The style

starts automatically as soon as you press a
key.
from 0 to 9
5. To modify the tempo, press the [tempo-]

or [tempo +] button repeatedly. The
current tempo value is indicated on the
display.
You can adjust the tempo of a style from 40

to 240BPM.
To reset the tempo to its default value,
press the [tempo -] and [tempo +] buttons
simultaneously.
6. Play along with the style.
Fill-In
Simply press the [sync/fill] button while
the style is playing to insert a variation. The
original style is resumed at the end of the
variation measure.
If you want to insert a longer variation, hold
down the [sync/fill] button. The variation
will be played until you release the [sync/
fill] button.
7. Press the [start/stop] button again to

stop the style playback.
Auto Bass Chord

Synchronization (SYNC)
This feature allows you to synchronize the
beginning of a style with the beginning of
your performance on the keyboard.
Once you have selected a style, press the
[sync/fill] button. The numbers in black
under the tempo value and the metronome
start flashing, meaning the keyboard is in
waiting mode.
The 19keys on the left of the keyboard with

note indications (A, B, C) above them are
called Accompaniment keys. When you press
them, you determine the type of chord you
are playing.
You can set the keyboard to play with or
without accompaniment.
Note: By default, the keyboard is set to
Normal mode. Follow the steps indicated in
Simplified fingering or Standard fingering
to choose the mode of accompaniment that
will best suit your needs.

7. Press the [start/stop] button again to

stop both accompaniment and style.
Normal Normal mode
Chords are deactivated in this mode (you
can however select voice and style).
S. Finger Single Finger mode
In this mode the accompaniment keys
trigger chords using the simplified
fingering detection mode (see Simplified
fingering).
Fingered Standard fingering mode
This mode allows you to play chords with
the accompaniment keys by pressing
three or more keys of a given chord. The
chord name is indicated on the display. The
number of keys you press determines the
chord type.
1. Press the [A.B.C.] button. A.B.C.

appears on the left of the display.

2. Press the [style] button and enter the

2-digit number of a style.
3. Press the [start/stop] button to start the
accompaniment before the style. Press
the [sync/fill] button to synchronize the
beginning of the automatic rhythm you
chose with your accompaniment.
4. To start the accompaniment, press one of

the accompaniment keys at the desired
moment.

Standard fingering
The Standard fingering method uses the
standard 3notes or more type of play. This
allows practiced musicians to play a wider
range of accompaniment chords.
Follow the same steps as those indicated
for the Simplified fingering method so as
to start the accompaniment playback with a
standard fingering.

5. Adjust the TEMPO and ACCOMP VOLUME

values to your liking.
6. Pressing the [A.B.C.] button again will
stop the accompaniment rather than
the style. A.B.C. disappears from the
display.

One Touch Setting (O.T.S.)

The One Touch Setting feature allows you to
play a preset voice adapted to the style you
selected. Follow the steps indicated below to
activate the One Touch Setting feature.

Transpose
Press the [function] button and TPS0 (no
transpose) appears on the display. Use the
[-] or [+] button to transpose the pitch of the
keyboard from -6 to +6.

Metronome
Press the [metro] button.
Choose a number of beats (with the
[function] button), then press the [O.T.S.]
button to play these beats at the current
tempo.
Press the [tempo -] or [tempo +] button
repeatedly to modify the tempo value.
Press the [metro] button again to stop the
metronome.
Beats per measure

Press the [function] button twice and
BET4 appears on the display. Use the [-] or
[+] button to modify the number of beats that
the metronome will use per measure: 0, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.

MIDI channel
Press the [function] button threetimes and
CH XX appears on the display (XX being
the current MIDI channel number). Use the
[-] or [+] button to modify the MIDI output
channel from 01 to 16.

Chord directory
The Chord directory (Chord direct) is an
internal process that helps you to learn how a
chord is made up.
This feature helps you learn chord names
and how to play them.
1. With the style stopped, press the [chord
direct] button to activate the chord
dictionary mode. The Chord direct

memory when the keyboard is switched on.

simultaneously [M1/pad1] (or [M2/pad2]

Note: All voice assignations are deleted when

the keyboard is switched off.
Follow the steps below to record and play
back a percussion track.
1. Press the [voice] button, and then enter
00 on the numeric keypad.
2. Select the percussion voices by pressing
any of the 49keys until you find the sounds
you want to record.
3. Hold down the percussion pad to which
you want to assign the voice and press the
corresponding key.

The settings entered in the memory will

revert to their default values after the power
is switched off.
Percussion
Percussion pads on your keyboard trigger
bass drum, snare, open hi-hat, closed hi-hat
and high tom voices.
Simply press the [memory/percussion]
button. PER appears on the display. The
keyboard plays the selected percussion voice
each time you press its corresponding pad.
You can record any of the percussion voices
played by the percussion pads. This allows
you to quickly select and play a percussion
voice from the keyboard.
MIDI
1. Your keyboard features a MIDI interface
(Musical Instrument Digital Interface).
MIDI is the universal standard used to
send and receive playing data between
digital musical instruments.
2. With MIDI, you can play music
simultaneously on your keyboard and
another instrument, while only playing a
single instrument. You can record your
music in a sequencer, and benefit from
a wider range of sounds with a sound
module.
3. All the instruments that are compatible
with the MIDI standard feature a MIDI
OUT output and some are also equipped
with MIDI IN and a MIDI THRU connectors.

function. The MIDI OUT connector sends

MIDI data (it talks) to other MIDI devices.
4. This keyboard is equipped with a MIDI OUT
connector. Please follow the instructions
indicated below.

Connecting to a PC
Turn off both keyboard and PC. Use a MIDI
adaptor cable to connect the keyboard to the
PC (one side features 5 pins, the other 15).
Switch on the keyboard and the PC with the
volume set at its minimum level (using the
[master vol] button).
Note:
1. Your PC must be equipped with a
soundcard, a pair of speakers and MIDI
software must be installed.
2. No information regarding styles,
pre-recorded songs, sustain and
transpose values is sent as MIDI data.

MIDI messages (such as program change
or note change messages). See the
Implementation chart on page 20.

default channel is 01. Once the connection
is established, MIDI data are sent
